I just got my first red diamond .It is an excellent cut , pure red princess ,and Natural !It took me quite some money savings and a lot of patience . The source I bought it from is a trustworthy one .I tried to uploaded the picture but they wouldn't accept the HTM mode .I will find the way to post it .

Click on "Upload attachment" just under the text box. Browse to find your pic and click on "Add the file". The picture will be under your text when Submit.

yeah, if you click the thing that looks like a diamond (under insert) you should be able to post it if you have the pic saved to your computer. do you have the full stats? is it GIA certified? what is the color grade?

I've never seen a red diamond before. Eagerly awaiting these pictures! Great job on the find.

Ooooh! I hope you figure out how to post a picture soon!

Wow, red is the most rare and valuable of all diamond hues.
A red with no other color modifiers is one in a zillion.
I doubt I'll ever see one, let alone get a microscopic one.

Is your pure red graded by GIA to be natural in origin - both the diamond and the color itself?

This $92,400 one has a secondary purplish modifier which is why it's so cheap.
Pure red is even more costly.
Image what that pure red goes for.

Hahah, me too.

I think this statement from such a connoisseur of FCDs as Kenny speaks volumes:

I would think that finding a fancy red with a vs clarity grade would be very difficult...I have a fancy red/orange 0.18 ct that I got for a steal from a jewelry store that was closing, but it is SI1 and I did some searching after I got it and I have never seen a stone without a color modifier grade as a VS stone. Maybe someone else will know more.

Usually reds are cut as radiants for color retention, don't think I've ever heard of a princess cut one either. If existent, that stone cost a large fortune.

Figment, I'm collecting FCDs in that carat range.
Since this is the Show me the Bling! forum, and I may not get my pic fix from the OP, do you have any pics of your red/orange? :naughty:

I agree with you that FCDs are cut for color, but if I may split hairs, I'd say cuts like radiants are selected more for color enhancement than color retention.

You wrote, "I have never seen a stone without a color modifier grade as a VS stone".
I know it's possible because I have a Fancy Intense Green with no color modifier that GIA graded VS2.

Oh and you're right about princess cut FCDs being rare.
Using this Advanced Search function on Leibish's inventory of 833 diamonds I found only 36 princess cuts.
That's only 4.3%.

I'd love to see it as well! That must be a beauty and therefore, it should make its PS debut :appl:

Shame on OP for teasing us like this with no pictures  :nono:

Sorry, I meant to say I have never seen a RED diamond with that high of a clarity grade, though granted I haven't looked that hard. Most seem to be graded between an SI1 and an I2.

I'll try to get pictures of my ring. It is an Etienne Perret white gold halo with pave. The stone itself is a blood orange color, very pretty (in my opinion). I picked the entire ring up for less than $2000 from a jewelry store. The stone is small, but it's actually turning out to be a nice stacker!

diamondhearts is a big JOKER!!!!! :angryfire: :angryfire:
