My first emerald ring - how did I do?

This stone looks a lot prettier in your photos than in the vendor's. I definitely think you did well on your first ring. Wear it with joy!

Mmm.. What a glowy green. One great buy

I think you did GREAT. Very pretty setting and the stone looks good on your hand. I'm sure you will get some advice on care soon.

The gem also looks like it really needs a repolish - would it be worth doing for an emerald of this size and quality? And if so, who should I send it to? Dana?

No, I would suggest leaving it alone. Old prongs like that tend to be kind of stiff and with them being thinned out towards the tips the chances of mauling them during stone removal is pretty good. I also doubt that a repolish would do a lot for the stone and could cause problems in polishing. Nice looking stone IRL!

Yeah, it look much better than the vendor's photo, you did well :appl:

You know, you have beautiful hands, and it looks antique in contrast to your youthful skin, like a grandma's ring. I think you did very well.

I like it! Looks vintage to me. I am not n expert in Emeralds but I would enjoy wearing your ring.
