Arc DO IT! With crystal gems you move them around they sparkle, opals change colors. Really neat!

Hera: Thanks! Here's some pictures I took of it in sunlight this AM. Opals are really difficult to photograph! Luckily the colors in this one are so in your face it was a little easier once I figured out the settings on my camera. Some of them turned out to be just big white blobs lol

It's Ethiopian according to the vendor.

Thats what I thought, Ethiopian. I have seen a couple youtube videos posted since that thread and even TL posted one with a paraiba I think.
I had a 1/4 kilo of ethiopian rough a while back and it took me forever to figure out how to photo or video opals. I used to think gemstones were hard but trying to capture the color play as I see it IRL was like hairpulling.

but yeah Opals are a pain. I wish I could retain enough info to remember what different locations look like, the only location I can remember is Lollipop Spesses.
