It could still turn up! We have parcels that just float around the system here and apparently 99% of them turn up, just not on time!
I added it to my jeweler's mutual policy. But since it's an antique piece I'm not sure how the replacement policy would work
I'm clinging to the hope that it might be somewhere in the carrier's truck. Post office basically told me it was loaded onto a carrier truck for delivery and never showed up again. GIA don't have it either so it's not that the carrier forgot to scan when they made the delivery.
