I totally understand having to see the bands together, I would have been the same way. You did an outstanding job of matching them!Date: 10/15/2006 5:05:47 PM

Thanks Milly and Gail!
Ellen..yes, it is sort of like the stone is on it''s throne or something! And I will have to agree with you, these two rings are so perfectly matched that they could be a set. That''s the thing I couldn''t achieve without trying both on. There was no way to order an e-ring setting from one place and a diamond band from another without trying them on first. They sit flush, and both bands are sort of flat but rounded slightly. I am adjusting a little to the ring setting, but I am really concerned about the size of the diamond. I imagine you''re the only one on PS who understands this! I did tell Jon that I was feeling some DSA (diamond size anxiety) and that if it doesn''t shrink soon, I may take a look at the 1.4 G VS1 and he is getting in another in that size in a few days. This diamond is really perfect, so I wouldn''t settle for one that wasn''t as good or better, if that is possible. The ring issue is going to cause me to have to wait on the earrings until I know what I''m doing about the ring diamond. My husband thinks I''m nuts. He thinks if I get a smaller one then I''ll wish I had a bigger one! I just know that when I went to church this morning with my old 1 ct. diamond on, I still had on close to the biggest diamond there. Just because we can afford it does not necessarily mean that I have a need to have it. This diamond is really wonderful, but if I am going to feel uncomfortable wearing it outside the house, it''s not doing me a lot of good!
lol Thanks.Date: 10/15/2006 5:40:33 PM

Gosh, Ellen, I need to give you a cyberhug. I really needed to hear that. I think I need to give this some time before I make a crazy decision.
Thanks, DL! Even though I absolutely love the look of full eternity, I wonder how well they handle daily wear and tear over time. The part that is under the finger will get banged on things. I just didn't want to worry about flattened prongs, etc. Remember that platinum is soft. And will you wear the same ring size over the next 50 years? There are just pros and cons to full eternity. But I will say that I'd like Memoire in full eternity more than most others because it is not so thick as to be uncomfortable. It'll be great if you can find a Memoire dealer to try some on..that will really help you determine the right size to go with your gorgeous e-ring! I'll be waiting to see what you decide...I might still get the Lockes yet!Date: 10/15/2006 6:07:19 PM

DS2006,
Thanks for the information. I'm partial to a full eternity but it sounds like the Memoire Band price for that would be higher than what we'd like to spend. I'm going to try and find a local place who carry them to try a few on with the Lockes and see how it sits.
I really adore your set so your effort definitely paid off! Lovely lovely.
