I wanted to say a quick thank you to everyone who made suggestions when I was looking for stones for my studs collection. I now have four really nice CS pairs. I want to preface the pictures by saying they do the stones no justice at all. I'm still learning to photograph gemstones. Add to that the fact I was only able to spend about 5 minutes on this and they're even worse for it. I'm moving from an island to the mainland Wednesday so I really have no time. After the move (and once things have settled) I'll try again for better photos. In the meantime here they are!

So the line up is as follows.
Sapphires, 4.6mm and 4.7mm. Heat only eye clean, almost loupe clean.
Tsavorties, 4.9mm, eye clean and almost loupe clean.
Pink Tourmalines, 5mm and I can't remember exact clarity but eye clean
Rubellite Tourmalines, 5mm and again I can't remember the stated clarity but eye clean

Here they are in my ID Jewelry jackets. I figured I should include a shot or two of them since my jackets are my favorite piece of jewelry (besides my wedding rings) and the reason I decided to kick off my gem buying by making studs. The side shot shows they do stick out a bit but I'm okay with it. It's actually less than how much my diamonds (also 5mm) stick out.

I don't know if pearls belong on the CS forum but here's a shot of those as well. They were purchased around the same time and were a place holder so to speak while my studs were being made up (they were supposed to be a birthday present and my husband wanted me to have something to open on the day). They're basic salt water white pearls from Na Hoku and they're 5.5mm and I tried everything and these fit exact, no airline but not so snug they'll get all scratched up.

Here's the last photo, one of each of my studs. There's also a few bonus pairs in there. I picked up a set with amethyst, peridot, and citrine studs from Macys. They were dirt cheap and I figured they'd do well to tide me over until I could get better ones made up. :naughty: Then I can pass them on to younger relatives.

WOWOWOWOWOWOW.

I love the CS studs, and I LOVE the jackets!! Stunning, really.

Congratulations! They're lovely and fit in your jackets really well!
You are reconfirming for me that IDJ jackets are on my wish list!

Very pretty and the photos are nothing to sneeze at either.

You have done quite well for yourself. If and when I'm in the market for colored stone pairs for studs, I'll know exactly where to turn! :praise:

What a great way to get to know the different gemstones and enjoy them at the same time!! Well done :appl:
They all look lovely in the jackets as well - enjoy :))

They are gorgeous. Love those jackets. I really love the pearls with them as well as the rainbow of gemmies. You just need an orange pair to complete the "rainbow" totally :D

Thank you everyone! The photos do show them all darker than they are in real life. But they're not too bad, especially since I took them in the tiny window I had between my sons nap time and packing! I wore the tsavorites to my ballet class and got complements seconds after walking in! They're just such an amazing in your face green. I think they're my favorite. I'm so glad people turned me on to Yvonne, otherwise I could never have found them.

Just to let anyone who might be interested know, the jackets are the 5 pointers. I know some people thing the balance is off when paired with colored stones, but I really enjoy the look even if it's a bit blingy for day. :naughty:

I love convertible jewelry so I've already started thinking about having other jackets made. I got these for my last wedding anniversary, I'll probably ask for another pair next year. I think I want pink of blue sapphire jackets instead of diamonds though. :D

I do still need a few more colors for my rainbow. I have a few other projects I'm working on but I'll be keeping an eye out for more 5mm gems. If something on my list pops up I'll just get them. DanielM offers bulk order discounts. So I probably won't be posting any new earring photos for a while, since I'll set them all at once and I don't know how long it'll take me to find everything I want.

My list,

periwinkle (tanzanite)
yellow (sapphire or zircon, I just want something between school bus and lemon)
teal (zircon or apatite)
sky blue (blue topaz?)
orange (spessartite)

What a super collection! Rainbow indeed. And it sounds like you're having a blast. How nice!!

Fantastic collection; you are only missing a few other colours. :naughty:

Excellent use of earring jackets to pair them up with different studs, and good luck with completing your rainbow!

I do this with mine with 6mm studs of diamonds, white and black pearls and WG balls, as I do not have any CS studs yet.

I would love to have a pair of raspberry red CS studs eventually.

DK :))

One of my most wanted items, to own rainbow studs and a diamond jacket.

But it takes time.

Congrats on your achievement! :appl:

I love your collection! This is going on my wishlist, along with the jackets! My favorites are the tsavs and sapphires. What a fun way to collect every gemstone color!
