We recently took a spring holiday to Japan to chase Sakura. As with all things booked almost a year in advance, best laid plans often go awry. The Hokkaido sakura we intended to see did not bloom yet but we did catch some in Tokyo and saw Mount Fuji on the same day so yay us!

You’re probably like “Shut up and get on with the jewellery.” Heeeee

I had two free days to go jewellery shopping. First stop was Brand -Off where I saw the most fabulous Mikimoto bangle ever! Now as a general rule I dislike brands (Why pay for the name???) but I knew that I could not recreate that bangle without a whole lot of drama so I decided to buy it. Unfortunately I was foolish and forgot to bring my credit cards from Australia thinking that I could just use our overseas travel card which was under hubby’s name. Hehe that did not go down well and I was sternly told NO. Rightly so! Hubs was on the other end of town pretending to be a ninja so I had to beg them to reserve it for me so he could pay for it at the end of the day. No one really understood anyone but we muddled through. I did beg them to just let me pay with his card but was sternly told no again to which I apologised profusely for being a feral tourist.

To quote my son: Mummy you rocked in there wearing a wig and tried to pay with a credit card that was not yours. I am surprised they didn’t have you arrested let alone reserve the bangle for you.

Hubs got there at the end of the day and after various card declines (because we had all these safety measures in place) we managed to pay for it! So without further ado here is my much adored masterpiece! She weighs 38g, 18k gold with Akoya pearls and wee diamonds. I wear bangles ALL THE TIME so trust me this was a must buy! Plus I am into yellow gold right now!

Now initially after I couldn’t pay for the bangle, I was rather dejected and had this crazy plan to withdraw huge sums of cash using Hubby’s card to pay for it. I decided against it cuz the 7-11 was faaaaaar and it was pouring. Dejectedly I hauled my cold and wet self (but the wig stayed on and looked awesome!) to Tokyo Pearl, to window shop. Didn’t expect to buy anything of course because I had no access to money!

But miracle of all miracles!!!!!!! They had tap and pay!!!!!!!! Woooot woot!!!!!! They were so so sooooo nice! I tried on a pair of earrings and told them that I will buy them and make sure I can pay for them before I get up to any mischief. Fortunately the tap went through smoothly and I bought up a storm. Actually in my defence it was not a storm, only items that my wardrobe desperately needed.

I bought these earrings and necklaces:

I need to go cook dinner! Will get onto the next part of my adventure later! And no I did not just go jewellery shopping! I got it out of my system after two days and then we went around these charming towns in Hokkaido and I did not even look at a jewellery store. I just drank lots of milk and ate lots of soft serve for the rest of the trip!

Omg I'm so jealous haha keep the pics coming! I love that bangle and so glad after all that it's yours. Hope you had a good holiday and would love to see your holiday snaps too.

More please, as I can't believe you would have stopped shopping so soon!

Gorgeous pearls!

Ever since I bought Lil Sis her gold pearl ring I’ve wanted one of my own. It was so hard!!!! There were pearls in settings with lots of frufru but the colour was kinda strange. There were gold pearls of all shades but I wanted fully gold gold. In the end I found this sweet little ring. Would have liked it bigger but I do love the gold colour.

Plus the kid likes it so he can inherit it as trinket one day and trade the gold for bread.

Then the next day I hit Komehyo. I fell in love with this monstrosity

It’s made from sapphires and 5 tourmaline stamens.

Fantastic finds! :kiss2: That first bangle is spectacular, it was worth all that drama and more.

I like to peruse the Komehyo eBay store from time to time, it would be so fun to shop in person!

I'm am so fiercely proud of this kidlet. He made me belly laugh. You tell him!
Now that was a fun day.

More please, thanks in advance!

Now those are some gorgeous jewelry pieces! That bangle makes my heart beat fast!

Posting random items I did not buy for @dk168

I find it so overwhelming in the best of ways. I had to really gather and focus because when you walk in there’s just an overwhelming selection of items all within budget so you just start getting delusional thinking you need this and that.

Here you go!

Lake Toya. It’s beautiful everywhere in Hokkaido. I just walk around randomly and the scenery takes my breath away.

Squid ink soft serve anyone??? It was a bridge too far for us

Random scenes as we drive around

My son has an aversion to barnyard smells so he gagged when he exited the car to go to this restaurant on a farm. The pet goat was not impressed and swiftly turned around to give the kidlet his stink eye!

More for @maryjane04

The view in Furano is stunning. You walk to a cake shop to buy cakes and this is what you see.

Love love love the bangle! The pearls seem to have a pink cast, which is my fav. (I know very little about pearls).

@mellowyellowgirl , thank you!

One of the reasons for postponing my trip to Japan until 2027 is to give myself a chance to save sufficient funds for jewellery purchases, as I would hate to come back empty-handed.

DK :))

All of these are stunning!

The earrings are my favourite. Thanks for sharing!

I love the jewels. I love the seafood. I really love green tea ice cream! Any green tea dessert actually!!
