thanks for the close up shots. that is so cool. the detail on the claw is amazing.
that is one of the few things I have seen on ps that was actually intersting to hubby, too!
oh yeah, I would SO wear that thing!!
enjoy!!!

Glitter, that is such a funky piece! I love the way the pear looks. Funny about your husband taking one look and the shudder. Hee.

Very cool, Glitterata!!! I love that OMC pear!

Very interesting that you posted this, too, because I was looking around for bird-related antique pieces the other day and saw a few at Adin.be (this link might work) that were very similar, though no rings. I have been wondering what the significance might be, since that symbol seems to have been popular. None of them have a stone as nice at yours though!

more pics! :}

That is a WHITE pear! And the detail on the setting is very cool. LOL at your husband!!!

Storm, was that a request for more pictures, or an exclamation of approval for the pictures I already posted?

Here''s a few more in any case.

Another.

And one in my palm. I totally can't tell what color the little diamond is, by the way. It's definitely whiter than my L. I think it's yellower than my F, but I could be wrong about that. I like the way it sparkles. It's not bright, exactly, but it's very twinkly.

Oh, VERY interesting, FataFelice! I looked around on that site and found these:

01317-1585.p00.jpg

97028-1399.p00.jpg

There are a bunch more, too, mostly with smaller old mine or rose-cut diamonds or pearls. Adin.be thinks some of them are "most probably" Belgian and others are French, mostly from 1870-1880. (And I'm delighted to find I seem to have gotten an excellent deal on my ring.)

Glitterata, it''s awesome! Wow do I love that OMC pear. I''ve never seen one before and it''s fascinating! From the original picture I wasn''t sure of the size or how it would ''work'' as a ring but it does. Very unique! And so much detailing on the eagle claw. Great find.
