I posted earlier about looking for an OEC stone after becoming smitten with the delicious culets in my sapphire engagement ring. We also needed a workhorse ring because the milgrain on the e-ring was so fine I did not want to ruin it by wearing it daily.
I managed to score an OEC and a setting separately, and it was finally put together! I’m pretty excited to share my little find.
Being an OEC it was born in the Art Deco era. (I will be grateful if anyone can tell me if this is an early or late OEC) During that time my husband’s nan was drawing cartoon postcards 1920-1938 which I now collect and love! I find it incredibly romantic that this stone was worn by someone when she was drawing those postcards.
His nan’s first name was Mab, and his mother’s middle name is Mab. Well it just happens my first name is also Mab.
So in honour of his nan and her Art Deco postcards, and this somewhat bizarre coincidence in our names, I present to you Mab!
She is lemony yellow against the F-G melee in this David Klass platinum setting. My plain 18k yellow gold wedding band plays up the colour very well I think!
Special mention to @foxinsox @Lovesparklesparle
@kindred @soxfan @MakingTheGrade who helped me evaluate the stone. It was not easy not having angle numbers to get through the buying process so thank you all very much!
