Wowza! Wax poetic all you like, that ring deserves it! It''s beautiful, the setting has history, and that stone. Gorgeous.

Congratulations on your engagement as well!

Simply beautiful. Congratualtions!

Can I ask you where the setting is from? It is sooo pretty!

It''s beautiful. I love the setting!

Well done to him and to you for sticking it out!

Your ring is so lovely, enjoy it!

Congratulations on your engagement--wishing you many years on Cloud 9!

Your ring is so, so beautiful. It''s unique, delicate, and looks very pretty on your finger. I would be totally entranced by that gorgeous stone! I have an EC (see my avatar <--), and I think step cuts are so mesmerizing. You should post your beauty in the step cut lovers'' thread!

So gorgeous, I love the way the setting sets off the asscher! Congrats!!!!

I think most PSers won''t hesitate to post a pic of his or her ring!

Here''s my ering.

1.57 vvs2, I color. Prong set in a halo. I got married last September...and I still haven''t really taken any pics of my ering with my band...I''ll have to get on it.

Oooh. The combination of your Asscher and the halo setting is gorgeous! Is it vintage? It looks vintage style.

Hi there! I basically gave my fiance a billion examples of my dream ring and told him to surprise me. His inbox is probably spammed with countless images of Asscher stones and antique ring settings. I have a hunch that he obtained the ring from this website: www.antiqueengagementrings.com They sell original antique rings as well as exact replicas of antique rings. It was my favorite go-to website for e-ring examples. I still visit it often! Have fun taking a tour!

Hey Kitty! Your Emerald Cut e-ring is just too fabulous! Honestly, I was totally torn between the EC and the AC. It''s my other favorite! I think I''ve got a crush on step-cut stones also. I think there''s a dynamic quality to them in that they''re incredibly striking while utilizing far fewer facets than the more traditionally popular stones. I''ll definitely check out that thread!

It''s a beauty! Congratulations.

Wow...that is a purdy ring and a FAB profile. Congrats!!

what a lovely setting, that would have to be one of favourites for an ascher.

Wow - one of the most beautiful asschers I have ever seen! If I could have had a Royal Asscher, I may have kept that shape - you are so lucky!

The setting is beautiful, but I see what you mean about the one prong - my ring has the same problem with one prong because my stone is also a little too big for the setting - but I still think that your ring looks amazing.

Congrats, your ring is just gorgeous!

Nana - My setting isn''t vintage - but it was the look I was going for...I quasi-designed it myself - or at least tweaked an already existing style to make it more what I wanted.

Enjoy your beautiful ring!!!

Absolutely gorgeous! I''m not an Asscher girl, but it''s one of my favorite Asscher settings on here!

I love the vintage details of the setting and the gorgeous stone.

My fiance was teasing me the other night about finding this site. He said: "It''s like a forum full of other versions of you." I think he''s referring to my keen interest in engagement rings. He''s glad that I''ve found others who share my interest because I''m sure he''s a little weary of my constant gushing about the ring he bought me. Hehe.

The ring is amazing, asschers (and cushions) are my favorite shapes for diamonds! Put them in antique/antique style dainty settings and it doesn''t get any better than that!

LOVE IT!! And to prove that the grass is always a wee bit

-er. You *have* the tab prongs that I *wish* I had. So authentically deco looking!

Re: prong symmetry w/ Asscher settings -- nearly impossible. Even when it''s in a setting the exact right size. I''ve tweaked mine a few times & its always a bit off. Usually there''s one direction that hides the *slight* imperfection a bit more than the other. Keep it flipped that way & enjoy.

Absolutely stunning! LOVE IT!

Thanks Laura! I love your Asscher as well, it''s in such a sleek, elegant setting. =)

I''ve adored Asscher stones for quite awhile now because they have such a rich, romantic history. They were really popular during a lovely era, then disappeared for a really long time. There''s a certain mystery to that which intrigues me. They''re starting to make a comeback now, though few jewelers have good Asscher stones available. Personally, it makes me feel really special to have such a unique stone. I can''t stop staring at it! Every time I look at my Asscher, I feel like I''ve been transported to another time and place.

Pardon my poetic ramblings...one of the symptoms of being newly engaged...
I 100% agree - when I first discovered Asschers, I was hooked. They''re much less well known to the world at large, and I feel like it''s such a special, special cut, with such an interesting past.

Wear that lovely ring proudly - it''s going to make an amazing heirloom ring to pass along to your children and grandchildren!

Would any of you ladies mind sharing pictures of your rings? (both Asscher and non-Asscher rings welcome) I just love looking at diamond jewelry!
We have a 133 page thread stuck to the top of this page to showcase rings - Sevens One will likely post yours soon!

And because I''m never shy about posting pics of my ring . . .

My asscher - with 2 of his little friends!
