I was wondering where my octavia went. I had put that one on hold, but couldn't figure out how I wanted to se it, so I let it go back. I would 'visit' it sometimes so it knew I still loved it.

No-one in this country (UK) has even heard of an asscher cut, let alone an Octavia! The one American woman in the office immediately recognised it as an asscher. They're really not very common here - most jewellers will stock hundreds of round but only one or two asschers. Hence going to GOG! Wouldn't have known about it if I hadn't found this website, so feeling okay about showing it off so much!!

I had seen that it had been on hold a while back. I hope you'll be reassured that it's gone to a good, loving home! Glad you like the setting - it's what I'd originally wanted for a normal asscher, and seems to work with the Octavia

Thank you everyone for your lovely comments. It is an amazing ring! We've been engaged for four months (and getting married in two!), and so it was totally worth shopping around for the perfect ring. I'd advise people to do the same as it's something you're (hopefully!) going to be wearing for the rest of your lives The right ring is a wonderful manifestation of your relationship - took a long time to find, but worth waiting for
