Lovely ring. I''m a fan of James Meyer as well. Having a ring of his is on my wish list.

Thanks for all the nice words. I can''t help smiling.

Cind11 and Heliotype-I know you have the same rings...did you ever pick a wband to go with it?
That is my next decision and I am up for suggestions. Anyone?

That''s amazing. The color is absolutely heavenly!

Wow! It''s super pretty, I love the color!

Hey there brightblue

I have only just made up my mind in regards to the wedding band (it has taken almost a year!!)

Jim is going to make our wedding bands I am getting a simple band:

1.8mm wide
unplated wg
no diamonds
fine milgrain edges
flat hammered finish (ie: no ripples or waves)

I want to stack my set with an eternity so I decided to keep the band super fine and chose the milgrain to match in with the detail around the stone

(I am thinking of getting something like the Tiffany Novo to go next to the wedding band or even the new Lotus band WF does by Leon)

I imagine it will look like this example - but in Jim''s perfect finish

have you seen Coati''s dished out band the she had made by Jim??

hers has a burnished effect and some rippling in the dished out part

I almost chose the same one - but in a cleaner look like this vintage example...

this one's another idea I had for a while - but I decided it was too fussy for me in the end...

arjunajane has a coloured stone version of this ring and wears it was an Art Carved band that looks stunning too - maybe look up her ring to take a look...??

** the band you see in my avatar is just a seven sided keeper I am using - I have lost weight in my hands and the ring is a bit loose
(I was hit by a car 5 months ago and my JM ering was damaged when I went over the bonnet... the diamond is fine - good to know they really are strong!!)

Thanks for your thoughts. I lean towards a thin/fine band as well because I have short stocky fingers. My original wband is a wide, pave domed thing that I never truly loved and never complimented my hand. I do like Jim''s wband G which matches the wraps but seems wide. 1.8 mm seems just a bit wider than 1385 right before the shank splits at the wrap? Is that how you came up with the width? I have not seen many examples of this ring paired with anything...I like the idea of a super fine Yes, Coati''s is stunning but wider than I want. I''ve seen arjunajane''s ring but apparently didn''t notice the band. You know, my fixated vision of "THE RING!" I''m glad you are ok. Losing weight in your fingers...were you lucky anywhere else? (It''s a tough way to lose weight.)

Hi Brightblue

my ering is 1.8mm at the widest point at the bottom of the shank - Jim measured it for me just after it was resized

I love this ring with a super fine band - the keeper I have been using is 1.8mm wide and after trying on some 2.0mm I decided 1.8mm was best

(fyi - Jim can make Coati''s thinner if you want)

I know what you mean abut focusing on "THE RING" I want nothing to compete with my ering too

re: the accident - my right leg snapped in half between the knee and ankle - broke both bones
it''s been a long process for the recovery - I now walk with a stick etc and hope to recover fully one day

What a beautiful blue sapphire, and a lovely bezel. And you''re right; the handshot of your Meyer ring is much more delicate than the other pictures seem to indicate.

Gorgeous! One of my two favorite stones is Sapphire and this bezel setting is amazing.

Someone was asking if this setting would be better east-west or north-south, was it you? If so, I think you made the right decision!

What a beautiful piece of art! Stunning!

Heliotrope-I LOVE the band you chose. I do think this ring would be complemented by a very thin band. I idea of some bling is one I haven''t decided upon. I am not sure small sapphires or diamond melee is the look I am going for...I like a vintage, bohemian look, if there is such a thing.

The WF Lotus is gorgeous...photos when you decide!! I can''t find arjunajanes garnet paired with a band...

Beautiful ring and stone... just perfect!

Beautiful and classic. One can''t go wrong with JM''s pieces. Gorgeous bezel work. Congratulations.

I think that ring is STUNNING! So much so, that I emailed James to see if he could give me an estimate to do the same setting with my new pink tourmaline (this thread:https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/love-my-new-tourmaline.144818/) . This is the makes-me-sad email reply from JM:

"At this point, I have such an amount of orders for pieces that I will be unable to take on any re-setting work. And, I am working on new pieces for my website inventory. That leaves available pieces that I already have made up on my site, or custom orders using my own stones that can be made after consultation with the customer."

So now I will never have a JM home for my tourmaline.

H-Thanks for posting this pic. I couldn''t find it. It is beautiful. Not just any band compliments this ring. I like the simple look in the band you selected. I do like his wedding band G but he suggested I wear the ring for a while to see what compels me.
iLander-When I spoke to Jim he told me he was going to try to reduce his workload by not setting outsourced stones. Sounded like he is busier than he wants to be. I can imagine the collective sigh resonating on this forum
