Ep, thanks for posting all those pictures. They are all breathtaking but I'm sure it looks even better in real life. I hope you'll share your proposal plans with us.
You can read all about it here (complete with pictures): Ring Alteration
It was completed and sent to Wink on Wednesday and I was supposed to receive it today. After taking a look at the pictures Wink sent me yesterday, I knew right away something wasn't right. He's sending it back to the benchperson. We had a 3 way conference call to settle all the details that I wanted like the v-caps on the sapphire sides, thinner prongs everywhere else, THIN double prongs on the Jubilee and a thinner shank (2.5mm vs 2.7mm). I think this will take another week but at least I am not in a rush. It's better to be late than have it not the way I envisioned, though I was hoping to be able to wear it for hubby's b'day this weekend.
Those pictures are phenomenal!!! I'm so glad that your search for an amazing setting ended well--it was such an ordeal! But, the waiting's over!!! She's going to love it, EP6585! You put so much care into choosing her stone and setting how could she not? She's a lucky girl
I took her last night to the restaurant where we went on our first date. I'd planned on doing it tonight but several things came up and we decided to go out last night instead. Since she knew I was looking at rings I wanted to find a way to still surprise her. I bought a small black Kate Spade handbag that she saw and said she liked when we were shopping last weekend. I put the ring box in the handbag and gave it to her in a gift bag. When she took out the handbag she thanked me for such a sweet gift. She then proceeded to open the handbag and caught a glimpse of the ring box. She was totally caught off guard and her eyes really lit up with excitement. She pulled out the ring box and opened it right as I was asking her to marry me. After a few seconds (minutes?) she composed herself and said YES.
I'm glad she loves it too. All we need now are finger+ ring pictures to quell the masses. Before you know it, you'll have diamond separation anxiety and you'll be getting one for yourself.
OH EP!!!! Congrats!!!! I knew I liked you for a reason...my husband did the same thing. He bought me a bag I wanted and had it all wrapped up. I knew something was up when he wanted me to open it after dinner....The funny thing is...I did a quick "pass" inside the bag but didn't want to look like I was looking for something...Well, I didn't feel the ring box (I like big bags)...and my husband got all flustered..he stammered...uhhhh, there's a wallet in there too...keep looking. LOL....I finally found it. Great minds think alike!!!! Hand pix soon please!!!!
I can't recall whether I expressed thanks in another thread to you or not but I don't want to take any chances.
You've been excellent to work with and I would absolutely HATE to think I forgot to respond to your post.
Gosh man... I feel like we've been through alot and feel as if I know you since HS. I don't think anyone in the world has researched the Jubilee as in depth as me except for you. It took months (and more than one stone) to finally come to a final conclusion but look at the end results! I can't thank you enough for your patience and patronage and I hope we can be of service to you again in the future. Please consider me a friend and from the entire GOG staff we wish you all of God's best.
The ring is absolutely gorgeous EP! Congratulations!!
What did she say about the jubilee stone itself - did she totally love it?? I'm sure she was super-impressed w all the work you did to find her just the right stone...
She really liked the Jubilee. Because of the setting she couldn't tell that it wasn't totally square. It flashes and looks alive in every type of light. I notice it sparkling from across the room. She's gotten a lot of compliments on it.
Congrats, congrats, congrats! What a GREAT proposal idea!!! I'm glad she LOVED the ring--there was no way she couldn't, but I'm glad it suits her! I wish you the best of luck!!!
