Rachie, I chose those mountings for the same exact reason. It was something different from the traditional four prong basket and they struck me as being so pretty. The lady who''s family owns that jewelry store had her huge rounds in that same mounting and believe me, even the mounting looks prettier the larger they get! Mine are platinum but for anyone who is choosing a mounting for new loose stones, almost anything from Stuller can be ordered in either gold or platinum.

I''m having a seven stone shared prong band made for myself for my birthday next month and I chose 14K white gold this time because the prices are so out of whack currently. I''m saving platinum for the five stone band I''m collecting stones for. We may LOVE diamonds, but hey, a girl''s got to budget these days to get everything she wants!

Rachie, I say that they look very OMC''ish to me because they have that random facet look to them that I see in my own OMCs. The ones that I have seen IRL are mostly off-round but I have seen photos of the squarish shapes as well.

However, Im no expert!
