I have been avariously reading from this site for
7 months. Oh I wish I had found it 4 years ago when
I bought my 2.06ct I SI1 GOOD cut diamond! I always thought
I was disappointed with it because of the colour and had
originally planned to upgrade to an F colour and keep
the size. But oh no. I discovered Pricescope! My poor
husband! Am now in the proud possession of a 3.05ct
D colour SI1 Hearts and Arrows Ideal cut diamond set
with 6 small diamonds also D SI1''s .06, .08, .10 on
either side of centre stone graduating out smallest
to largest. It is divine. Of course the pictures don''t do
it justice. Taken by a girlfriend in a restaurant with
disgusting nails. Needing a clean - both nails and diamond!
Apologies for both. Hope you enjoy it. Will post second
picture after this
Thanks again for all your help. Especially Mira who I
kind of stole the setting idea from - divine. Researcher
who was so helpful and also Rhino who even gave me scope
pictures to look at when I didn''t know what I was buying.
Thanks guys.

Very pretty ring! I feel your pain about the pictures not doing justice to your ring.

Gorgeous

. You won't find too many D colors in 3+ cts on SMTR which makes yours quite rare indeed.

I like the idea of graduating the side diamonds from the smallest to the largest because it makes your center stone stand out even more.

Wow a D. It's beautiful.
Congrats on the upgrade. Now what are you going to do with all that spare time? The quiet after the storm.......

Thanks guys for the kind comments.
Exactly now what will I do?
Well......as I mentioned I stil have the original
2.06ct I SI1 engagement ring. I plan to
get another diamond the same and make
diamond studs. Although the diamond is
only a good cut I think as earings they
will still look fabulous. I will buy another
good cut for the left ear. Otherwise Iwill have
1 doosey sparkler and 1 not so sparkley so I think
better to match it. Though after reading everything
here it kind of goes against the grain not to get
an excellent cut. Only good thing is that the stone
will be cheaper!!

By the way, my son cropped out my hands so only
the ring shows. In case you were wondering where
the horrible nails had got to!
Vinka

What's your ring size?

The stud idea is great--with a little effort, you'll be able to match for cut and it will be perfect!

OMG- 4 ctw Studs???
You're going to have to become a Rap star with those suckers!

Hi Cflutist.
My ring size is 6.
The 4.0ct earings will be awesome.
My husband is already embarrassed.
I've been blessed with big earlobes -
so I keep telling him. Though I only
hear what I want to hear!
Will post pictures of earings when
acquired. Probably a few months away
yet. Will post with pictures of me
wearing so you get the idea. Have tried
on that size and they look like largeish
pearls

Hi girls,
Thanks for the kind comments.
I didn't mean to copy your rings - honest.
As mentioned in my first post I admired
Mira's setting very much. Especially the
shared prongs. I then went hunting and
fell in love with Diamonds by Lauren who
specialises in coloured stones. I liked
the idea of graduated side diamonds - starting
smallest nearest the centre stone and graduating
out thus emphasising centre stone. Diamonds by
Lauren had 1 such ring with blue saphire centre
and I loved it. You can't really notice the
graduation of sizes in my band - very subtle but
glad you like it.

Oh wow, Satelite. I love all the pictures. Thanks
Your ring is lovely.

(can't wait to see those earrings.- "Introducing straight outta Compton- It's MC Satelite!)

Oops.Correction. Just checked and got my idea
for the graduation from Simon West Jewellery website
ring called Sophia. Blue saphire - I loved it.

No apologies! I think this type of look is really classic and shows off a fabulous center stone to perfection!

Well, why not have it recut to ideal proportions and ask for a matching stone? Neither may be the most perfect H&A, but brilliance could be improved and the pair made perfect matches to the ring.

Comments: Hearts & Arrows & faceted girdle

My jeweller went to a diamond fair in Hong Kong
and purchased the diamond on my behalf. As I was
a little concerned about the IGI Cert she had it
verified with an HRD Cert and it matched perfectly.
I have also had it independently appraised and it
also matches up.

Good idea about getting other diamond recut.
I wonder how much diamond you would loose on
a 2.06ct? Should I buy another the same and get
them both recut or wait and get the first one
done and then get one to match. Any idea how
much it costs for recutting? Don't know anyone
thats ever had it done. I'm the only one I know
personally who has this diamond obsession!
