I collected this on Christmas Eve. I have several green Jadeite pieces, but is my first large emerald.
The emerald is 10.03 ct, the diamonds are 1.18 ct and the ring is 18 ct gold. The emerald has minor oil and a GRS report with a special appendix stating that “ This vividly saturated emerald of 10.03 ct is reminiscent in hue of the varieties displaying the legendary colors found in the world renowned Muzo mines. They are formally described as "Muzo Green" (* and commonly known in the trade as "Old Mine" emeralds.” It has the characteristic three-phase inclusion.
Thanks to @Pomelo and @ItsMainelyYou for encouraging me to post this thread.
Hope you like the ring!

Absolutely stunning!

My goodness, such a luscious colour. Congrats, would love to see some finger shots too.

I'm glowing green with envy... again. Positively scrumptious, my friend. I hope she brings you a lifetime of happiness!! I feel like this one deserves a name. Green goddess? Muzo majesty? I could go on and on.

Gorgeous, thanks for sharing!

DK :kiss2: :kiss2: :kiss2:

It's gorgeous!!!❤

Thank you, @Rfisher , @dk168, @Tartansparkles @DiamondGal28 for sharing my joy. I still feel a little thrill when I look at it.
@Autumn in New England you have such lively and fun ideas! I like your suggested names. Maybe it could be named after this hummingbird that re-appeared in Colombia - but Santa Marta Sabrewing might be a bit of a mouthful!
Maybe Chiara - luminous?
Or just Esmeralda, hehe .;)

Soooooo beautiful!!! It positively glows :kiss2:

Truly scrumptious!

Well, Merry Christmas to you!!

Like it? Like it?! That's an understatement!
It's phenomenal and you don't see this kind of thing often.
It needed it's own thread. For posterity.

WOW. What a beautiful emerald! The color and glow is absolutely beautiful!!

I complimented this on the other thread, but it's great to see it again. That blue-green in the 3rd and 4th pics is breathtaking. So is the glow in the side-on pics. It must be wonderful to have a world-class stone.

I love the blue to the green!

Any idea where Santa got it or is it from his own shop...?

Wow. Stunning emerald. Looks a little like a scrumptious boiled Lolly.

Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. May it bring you much happiness!

It's just gorgeous, I've lost my words looking at that stone! Beautiful mix of aqua blue and green:kiss2: Congrats!!

Dear @mellowyellowgirl, you,@icy_jade and @Tartansparkles have all made me much more diligent about taking photos of the ring. Shall share more soon! I am going to wear it very gently to avoid knocking it.

Yes, it feels quite unreal. I suppose I didn’t even realise what this stone was about until I did my investigations that I mentioned in the other thread, I knew very little about emeralds and never thought I would own one like that.

To answer @LilAlex ‘s question, Santa showed me the ring in Sept, and I was intrigued and unsure. I spent the next few months talking to jewellers from Singapore and emerald dealers from Bangkok and Colombia, and reading as much as I could. So yes, it came from Santa’s shop, but only after a series of investigations including a fresh gem report.

@Crimson yaaaaay to more photos!!!

At an 8 mohs it should be fairly robust right? Plus it looks so.......solid and the crystals look tight (for lack of a better word). Usually emeralds look crumbly to me, like you can see the fault lines, even the ones purported to be reasonably clean.

Yours reminds me of jadeite (not in color) in terms of how tough it looks. No crumbly looking inclusions etc

Thanks, @mellowyellowgirl it does remind me of jadeite but it looks more liquid, or as @Bron357 put it, a boiled lolly. I love my boiled sweet cabs!
Here are a couple of jadeite vs emerald pics. The second one is in low light.53A2E1B5-143E-4C8C-90B3-AE20FD71896C.jpegC7DA15DF-C792-4523-960D-8D66E9C117F5.jpeg

I am speechless. What a beauty!

Oh my goodness, this is ethereal! What a gorgeous color!
