After a long (for me anyway!) journey, involving two failed attempts at diamond purchasing with the third being the charm, and a complete remake of the settings due to miscommunication on both sides, it pleases me immensely to finally have these gorgeous earrings to call my own!

First, for the spec nerds:

Hesitation to move forward with these particular diamonds originally stemmed from worry about the stria seen in the videos of the diamonds on the website, and concerns about it affecting the visual performance.

Assurance was given that any potential interference could not be detected by the naked eye, and that these diamonds were gorgeous. I'm glad I listened to the professional, because he knocked it out of the park with this pair for me. To *my* naked eye, these are clear, with crisp facets, and wonderful sparkle.

Beautiful! From which vendor did you purchase them?

Well that would have been some useful information to put in the first post eh? *facepalm*

Jonathan at Distinctive Gems sourced the diamonds for me after I was unable to purchase a matched pair of Takara lab diamonds online through both Better Than Diamond and Distinctive Gems due to a 3rd party inventory system that was not up to date. So, he searched and found for me a pair just as good as if not better than the Takara diamonds I had my heart set on. I was willing to pay the premium for Takara lab diamonds because they do not have stria issues and all are guaranteed ideal (AGS 0) cut. Thankfully, to my naked eye, the stria in my diamonds does not detract from the beauty, which is something Jonathan screens for on all lab diamonds he sells.

Stuller custom made the earring settings for me.

So pretty!

Thank you!

These are gorgeous!!! Congratulations :kiss2:

Allow me to enable and encourage you to get a pair as soon as you can.

Very nice!!!!!!!

You are so kind, thank you!

congratulations! they are beautifully sparkly on you! enjoy!

Thank you, I do believe I will enjoy them!

I love these and they look perfect on you!

Aw, thank you. I initially wanted smaller ones but happily these don't seem overwhelming as I feared they might be. ^_^

These are really gorgeous and look great on you. Also, I love how visible the diamonds are in their settings. Inspiring! Enjoy!!

The settings make me very happy, as the visibility of the diamonds is really allowed to shine, AND they are incredibly comfortable! Whiteflash used to offer something very similar , and my super cheapie lab emeralds I bought to wear after I lost one of my moissanite studs last year are set this way. I love the look of a 3 prong martini, but not the feel, so this is the perfect compromise!

Those are absolutely lovely and have great presence on your ear. I bet they're so sparkly. Glad that it finally worked out for you!

So. Sparkly! While a little bigger than what I thought I wanted, I'll wear them happily for the rest of my life.

Well, thank you for looking! Beautiful example of MMDs is exactly what I wanted, because (to my mind) you really don't have to compromise on anything if you don't want to. Most of the credit goes to Jonathan for pulling this off for me.

Beautiful diamonds and the settings are lovely! Enjoy!

Why thank you so much!

They look much bigger on your ears! So pretty!

:D My mom laughs anytime I thank her for certain genetic traits she passed on, like my fairly small earlobes and ring size! Funny how I have been wearing 7mm round lab emeralds for the past 9ish months, yet these feel much larger somehow?

Wow, they are GORGEOUS!

Great pictures and great stones, congrats on the new additions! :)

Thank you for the feedback on the Stria aspect as well - I know it's been discussed on here before but there wasn't really any personal views on its impacts (or lack thereof). :)

Oh, and @kenny for the avian content as I believe he's a man who like a good bird :D

I'm glad the pictures turned out alright, I only have my phone camera so it was fun trying to capture what my eyes see.

As for the stria aspect - while *these* diamonds don't suffer to the naked eye for it, I have seen lab diamonds that do (specifically some pre-set lab diamond studs at Helzberg). I believe, much like inclusions, it's another aspect each lab diamond may need to be evaluated for.

Jonathan did a nice video about evaluating internal graining (which you've probably seen but just in case you haven't here it is):

Simply delicious!

Wow, those are so pretty.

They are gorgeous! Wear them in good health and happiness =)2

PS - I have seen the effect of stria on lab diamond performance first hand - I had a pair of lab diamond studs whose performance was really lacking. Unfortunately, I purchased them before seeing the above video. I ended up returning them and purchasing WF ACA studs. I think I got very lucky with my lab diamond e-ring because it performs just like the ACA diamonds.

Wow these are so gorgeous! Congrats, it makes me want a pair ASAP! <3
