Beautiful! Where did you get it? Can we see a front on shot?

It''s warm and sunny, so I took a bunch of photos. Will process them tomorrow and post them on this forum.

A local jeweler made the setting. The stone is a family piece.

Gorgeous! Looking forward to some more shots...

Alright! Sneaking a few minutes at work to add these photos.

A front view... I think this stone is a little spready, probably wouldn''t win any honors in a cut competition...

This shot gives you some idea of the ring''s architecture.

And a profile shot

Now you can see the engraved prongs

Wow Kimikocat, your ring is even more gorgeous up close! Thanks especially for showing close-ups of the engraved basket. I just love the proportions of your setting and I think it really shows your diamond quite nicely! What a beautiful J

Sheesh, how did I miss this thread? It''s beautiful, Kimikokat! I love the engraving and the wonderful chunky facets on your stone! Lovely!

Wow, really beautiful!

Thanks for more pics! Spready, huh? There''s NOTHING wrong with a spready stone!

So pretty! I, also, have an OEC and am in love with it! You''re so lucky your family had that stone!

I love old cuts! They are so special. What attracted you to your OEC?

I don''t mind the spready nature of my OEC. It makes the stone look bigger. And bigger = better, right?

A while back, when I first started posting on this forum, I was looking for a vintage wedding set to wear instead of this ring, on a daily basis, because I was worried about the ring being too much... I''m not so sure I want to go with that plan. After looking around, I''m starting to think that it''s impossible to find something that''s within our price range--and still in good condition. A few PSers suggested stacking bands. What do you all think?

I''ll take a front-on shot of the stone today and post it tomorrow. The one that I posted today is sort of offkilter.

Well I for one love the bands idea. Did you say this is a family stone? That is so cool.

Thanks Bev!

I''ll take more photos, certainly. Any requests? Besides the head-on shot...I have to admit that I haven''t been able to coax a nice head-on shot from my digital camera.

What do you guys think of a thin knife-edge band as a "spacer" between this ring and...other potential sparkly rings? or would I be better off with a thin ring with a flat or rounded shank?

No answer for you, but I had to sneak in another "Stunning stone and gorgeous setting!" comment.

What do you guys think of a 3-stone ring as a w-band? Maybe with some thinner stacking bands as spacers? Should the stones be old cut, as well?

I think it''s lovely with a 3-old cut stone. Your e-ring is beautiful.

Love in Bloom suggested something like this.
