someone did it as a two tone (not exact setting but similar) and its stunning. You could do it normal n/s or we. Very unique.

OR here is a great plain split shank that, even though there it says only rounds an cushions, I asked and they said they could do it for my pear with rough it costing more, so could probably do it for an oval too, you'd just have to have a local Ritani seller.

You seem to be thinking solitaire, either antique style or modern halo, but have you thought of a three stone? It really amps up the sparkle and finger coverage.

What I wouldn't do for a trip to the Diamond District, I feel like when I see the ring that I love love love I will know it's mine. Until then all I do is look at pictures and nothing around here (Ohio) really has much in the halo department. They all blend in and you can't distinguish the diamond from the halo.

p.s. This Whiteflash setting is what I thought I would get until I just found out they no longer do custom work for diamonds that aren't theirs.
