It is lovely!! What are the specs on it? It looks like it has great proportions! Congrats on your engagement!

You might ask to move this thread to SMTB where it will get more traffic. Just click on "report concern" in the right corner and ask the mods to move it...

It is 1.5ctw. VS2 I color that's all of the details I know, other than how much I really love it. I am now on the hunt for either a halo or another setting I have found. I've been married for almost two years and thanks to this site decided my round diamond I had just wasn't doing it for me. :naughty:

By the way I LOVE your ring!!! Thanks for the tip to moving it to another forum, I did post it on a previous thread I had started and did not get any response so I decided to give it a place of it's own.

Anyone have any advice of a setting or a band I would love to hear it :wavey:

Thanks

such a pretty. do you have some pics to share of the type of look you want for the setting?

Beautiful oval

Here is what I''m thinking.....only change would be the halo ring will have a plain shank with a diamond band.

Same ring with Pear.

Your oval is really beautiful and nicely cut, congratulations!!

Congratulations on your new diamond! Very pretty and great finger coverage. Love your setting choices. It will be hard to decide, one style is antique while the other is very modern. Best of luck making a decision. Maybe find a local store to try similar pieces on.

So glad you found a diamond you love! :appl: It looks great on you, and I love the finger coverage. I am leaning towards the halo, but both styles are very pretty. Have fun deciding!

remember your old ring with the black diamonds. This is just as unique but more flattering! I'm really happy corn you this is beautiful!

Had you seen this ring?
http://www.briangavindiamonds.com/engagement-rings/pave-and-side-stones/piper-sholdt-14k-white-gold-5777w14

someone did it as a two tone (not exact setting but similar) and its stunning. You could do it normal n/s or we. Very unique.

OR here is a great plain split shank that, even though there it says only rounds an cushions, I asked and they said they could do it for my pear with rough it costing more, so could probably do it for an oval too, you'd just have to have a local Ritani seller.

I love it that you remember my ring with the black diamonds :appl: I love this site more and more every day.
I do really like the Brian Gavin ring, it is very close to what I am looking for. I will be checking in to that more. Thanks.

I also really like these two by Steven Kirsch

What's your budget for the setting??

All very pretty settings, lovely oval!

Very pretty oval diamond. It is going to be a tough decision to pick a setting. I can't wait to see what you get.

Pretty, the oval is of such an exquisite cut!! Congrats on the new arrival! :appl:

have you seen this, I saw on one of the plain shank halo threads you were asking about a setting similar. you could totally have them do this for your oval, and wow would it ever look huge
http://www.pearlmansjewelers.com/jewelry-designers/beverley-k-jewelry/rings/102PP1/

I love this one!! I wasn't sure about the space between but I think it's growing on me.I am also not sure if I like how the diamond/bezel sits higher than the halo??
I also love your ring! I was reading through your posts and when you mentioned about having a little one with the first halo that made me think maybe a bezel is the way I should go. I also have a little one and put a nasty scratch on his leg from my oval just in the plain 6 prong setting. Is yours better now with the bezel?
I'm on the hunt now for this type of setting just to see what's out there.

Anyone that has something similar I would love to see pictures.
Thanks

How did I miss this? I love ovals. Nice one!

You seem to be thinking solitaire, either antique style or modern halo, but have you thought of a three stone? It really amps up the sparkle and finger coverage.

No I did not even think of the three stones, but I like them they are super pretty. I'm so confused. (Love that first one!!)

oh i ritani. i assumed sense you hadnt said anything that it wasnt your cup of tea. But with kids and the fact that i am very clumsy it is just perfect. The pave is so durable yet dainty and beautiful. Ive heard people describe it as a tank on here, but you would never think that by looking at it. Also, a lot of people say not to get halo's when you have young kids because they are a more dainty setting you have to take more care of, but personally i think this one is great. Ive dropped it and hit it on things   and it looks still brand new. They dont sell my setting anymore but im sure they could still do it. They say right on there website they will do custom orders, and i dont think its that much more expensive. I had them quote me a price for turning a round setting into a pear one and it was the same price.
You'd have to go though a local retailer or you could go though Pearlmans to get it (cant go directly with their website) but i think its worth looking into. if it were me, id mix this shank

with this this halo

Also, watch for Fi.Z's posts about her reset. she had a halo setting already and had them attach a bezel halo onto it. Its an oval too. very very pretty! Shes got a teaser post up in SMTB already, but should be to her in a day or too

I think it would be a great idea to start a "Show me your bezel halo's" type thread

Another idea of mine. (hopefully the last so I can make a final decision)

The "Bella" halo with a bezel set for my oval with matching milgrain?? :naughty: I already ran this idea by Erica and it can be done, and she thinks it would look beautiful!!
I also considered using the rose gold to really make it stand out, but it blends in with my skin to much.

I included the pictures to show how different it looks just between a cushion and a round. I think with this cushion ring a bezel almost looks like it's missing. SO this is why I think it would be great with my oval. (I love this ring)

Your advice is greatly appreciated!!

Looks beautiful. I think its a matter of if you want vintage or streamlined or modern or classic.... just have to find what style is "you".....I could name a million plain shank halos, but I know though they are all beautiful, not all are "me".

You just have to find your right fit :))

You are right about finding the right fit. Mine changes on a daily basis. I do know one thing I am going to take my time picking out what I want. What I wouldn't do for a trip to the Diamond District, I feel like when I see the ring that I love love love I will know it's mine. Until then all I do is look at pictures and nothing around here (Ohio) really has much in the halo department. They all blend in and you can't distinguish the diamond from the halo.
Keep the suggestions and advice coming :wavey:

Thanks
Brooke

p.s. This Whiteflash setting is what I thought I would get until I just found out they no longer do custom work for diamonds that aren't theirs.

I like this one too. BUT I am not sure how I feel about the diamond sitting above the halo.

Give that image to Engagement Rings Direct and I'm sure they could create you something very similar. They make amazing claw prongs too.
