I started out without e halo... but had the halo added to my setting later on. I love e dainty of my halo, the small melee and the bezel... exactly the look I had wanted

My ring started out without the halo. The setting was Beverly K inspired. My oval was prong set. The moment I saw my ring and tried it on, DSS hit me (my oval is 1.23ct, ring size 4). I was disappointed with the finger coverage and later on, I felt like my oval looked 'naked'. For the longest time, I was NOT a halo fan. But after some time of reflecting, staring at my ring, seeing all the beauties on PS, I came to the conclusion that 1) I still LOVED my setting, 2) I still LOVED my oval and 3) a bezel dainty halo would add finger coverage, sparkle, define the shape of my oval better, and add extra detail to the overall look of my ring. I am VERY happy with my decision. This ring will be with me for a long while! My halo is with HALF pointers. I think a dainty halo really makes the center stone just standout. I don't know if it is just the halo, or if combined with it being bezel set, but my oval now looks much "prouder" and has more presence than before!!! It is like a beautiful frame to a gorgeous painting!
I did consider the Bella Halo by JBEG. They also told me they could do it with an oval and that in fact, the original Bella design was for an oval. I would LOOOOOOOOVE to see you go for that option! Of course, the decision it totally up to you! I am just vicariously living off of your project,! LOL! I would have chosen the Bella route for myself, my that option was not within my budget!
I will definitely follow your journey!! So excited to see what you end up with! I love ovals!

Is your halo also bead set?
Thanks

Fi.Z will have to answer but I heard it was around the DC area so probably...
I believe that's what its called for both her and my halo. But again. A good bench should know.

(sorry the first picture I do not know who it belongs to on here, but I saved it because of the taper)

also, did you decide if you wanted it to have a vintage flair or more modern?

I do love this one, I've seen it before. Do you happen to know the designer?

Thank you for the up close pictures, they are very helpful. I had no idea your halo was bead set, I really love it. I thought your ring had a slight taper to it. I really like the taper look because I have fat fingers so I think along with a thin band it would look nice.
I actually sent the pictures of the ring and the pictures of your halo to Quest to see what they thought of adding a halo to it. I am also not sure if it would to busy so I am hoping they will let me know what they think.
Your ring looks like you bought it with the halo, so I figured if they can do that great that maybe I have a chance, plus I started looking for other Quest rings on here and they do magic when it comes to turning a ring you like into one you love!! I already checked with the seller of the ring and it would have been a custom made head and basically I was told no they could/would not try adding a halo.
My other idea to is to see if Quest could make your halo for my diamond with a plain shank, maybe tapered if they think that would look nice. But I am not sure what the underneath of the halo would look like, I want something pretty yet sturdy.
I was also excited to see the original Bella, that is still in the back of my mind. Thanks for the link.
So now I am waiting on the responses to my questions I have emailed about. That will hopefully rule out something, so I can keep moving forward.
Thanks for all of your help.

And I would think you could millgrain a plain shank. I imagine it like those plain wedding bands with mill graining
