I've heard a lot of lip stain suggestions -- Does anyone have a particular kind/brand they like. I'm not sure if i'm particularly clear on the difference between a gloss and a stain.

thanks!

Lip Stains - are just that they stain the skin of your lips, like when you suck on a popsickle. They kind of get asorbed into your lips instead of sitting on top of them like lipstick or gloss. The color is long lasting and doesn't move or transfer to things - and CAN look very natural - and my favorite thing about lip stains is they typically aren't sticky.

Here are some Ideas/Products:
Lorac Sheer Wash
Vincent Longo
Sephora Lipstains
Urban Decay
Tarte Lip stains - they are FAMOUS for their cheek stains
Tarte even makes a cheek stain called Blushing Bride
Smashbox lipstain and glosses

I saw you were wondering about the spray foundation that Carmindy uses on what not to wear, it's Era Face Spray by Classified Cosmetics - there has to be another site to get your color.

Dior makes this spray foundation.

Hope this helps.
Scintillating...

I think a lip stain is a great idea. Or, if you want a bit of gloss, something like the lip color I recommended earlier (Revlon Colorstay) basically has a lip stain you apply first, then cover with a top coat of gloss. It''s like the best of both worlds--long wearing & a bit glossy to boot.

Good luck!

You look great.

I don't necessarily know if this is a suggestion for your wedding day, but have you ever tried a greenish? tealish? color liner under your eyes? I just love the color of your eyes and wondered how that subtle color play would look.

I would love to see another photo with some of the girls' suggestions. I'm pretty stuck in a rut with my makeup and rarely wear lipstick/gloss/stain.

ps - I wouldn't go to an artist - you did perfectly well yourself

starset: i haven''t tried the green/teal eyeliner, but i think it could be fun. i really don''t wear makeup and when i do, it''s pretty subtle. however, getting some new makeup and my near-future trip to sephora are getting me to think that it might not be a bad idea to experiment -- especially with nighttime looks.

my eyes are strange. sometimes they are very blue and other times very green depending on the color of the clothing i''m wearing...so i can play around a bit.

thanks for all the suggestions.

the lip stain sounds like the way to go -- longlasting and won''t leave a lips mark on everyone i''ll be kissing

eta: don''t pull the eyeliner on the bottom all the way to the inside corner of eye - only go 3/4 the way - blend to fade

I have used the Era Classified Cosmetics spray foundation and it is WONDERFUL!!!! Suzanne Sommers actually makes a version of spray foundation and I have heard that it is made in the same factory as the Era stuff and is exactly the same for about half the price (though I haven''t tried it). You can get it on hsn.com

I think the makeup that you have looks very nice. You may want to play up the eyes a bit for the camera - either use a slightly darker eye shadow or like the eyes a bit more.

I myself have been very dissapointed with professional makeup people. I just never really look like myself when they do my makeup. Plus I always wear makeup and I personally think I do a better job than they do with it. My FI also agrees - so far he hasn't liked my make up when it was done by someone else. So I am also questioning whether to do it myself or go with a professional. I really just want them to do my eyes b/c I tend to be simple with my eye shadows (I usually just use one color).

If I were you, I would shop around to see if you can get some free makup sessions that some offer. You don't have to purchase their services for the wedding, but you can learn a thing or two just by having them do your makeup. Also you can ask them questions about how the camera picks up makeup. For example, I like a very pale lip but learned from a professional that my lips shouldn't be too pale b/c the camera will not pick up any color. Also I shoud use liner just even if I don't think I need it b/c the camera will wash out my eyes.
