On the contrary, the halo was designed to follow the natural shape of the center stone. One thing to remember is that antique cushions/OMC's are not as square or rectangular shaped as their modern counterparts - their shape is more rounded and "chubby". Ironically, this is the first "Kylie" halo we've created for an antique diamond - prior versions were all for newly cut stones. Another thing to note is that most antique diamonds are not perfectly symmetrical, so the halo must also take this into account and "correct" for any symmetry issues to give the illusion of perfect symmetry.
If you take a look at pics of the diamond when it was loose, you'll see that it has a much more rounded shape than a modern cushion. I keep trying to load one, but I must not be doing it correctly!
Enjoy your amazing new ring, libramom, we're so happy for you and proud as punch that you chose us for this important piece. Wear it in good health and happiness, always.
SIGH. Doing a photo shoot of your halo has given me halo fever...

Ok,, I see,, the stone itself is more rounded.. In another picture, it looked squarer than the halo, it must have been the prongs that set me off, sorry.
But anyways!!! It is to DIE for!!! I LOVEE the Kylie Halo!! Most importantly the small round donut, curved struts, and that V-cut Pave!!! SO PERFECT!!
I can only hope that mine comes out as beautiful!
LM, your ring is a MASTERPIECE!!
