very pretty Molly

I got a chance to get my hands on a camera with macro mode, so here''s some more pictures. The sun was setting as we were flying home and I realized that my ring was throwing some major sparkles all over the cabin of the place- crazy!

A yellow looking shot of the appraisal cover- the reset actually doubled the ring''s value!

Look at those crazy fiery flashes lol

It''s a beauty! Congratulations!!

Oh it is so much more sparkly now with the new setting!!!! I too, changed my original setting. My husband had given me a solitaire when he first proposed because he didn''t know what I really liked (and even I didn''t know what I liked!)

Congrats on a wonderful ring

Gorgeous reset- the new setting really showcases and flatters the stone! It looks fantastic- but doesn''t seem like it was tremendously huge departure from the original style of your old ring- it was just tweaked/altered a little. I love it!

Can I ask you how long you have been married? I am itching to suggest that we have my e-ring reset. I actually like the design, but I am not impressed by the craftmanship- I am noticing the some of the side stones and prongs seem crooked, etc. When I mentioned something to my hubby he got a little upset- but he didn''t make the ring- how did you bring this up to your husband?

I can also answer this based on my experience with it. I had had my old solitaire setting about 7 months into our engagement, and we were browsing at the jewelry store looking for wedding bands to accompany my solitare and we just saw an eternity band that we both loved (which is now my wedding band). I asked him what he thought it would look like with my engagement ring as also at eternity band. I too, felt bad for even suggesting it, but he was fine with it, and he thought it was a great idea. His feelings weren''t hurt, and he knew it would be a knockout ring if we did eternity for both bands. This is now what I have. I was very glad!

I think it just depends on your situation. Good luck!

We had been married just under a month when I first seriously brought it up- during our engagement I hinted around that my first setting wasn''t really my style, the prongs looked weird, etc. We went to a few B&M''s once I initially brought it up; DH didn''t want to change it until one of the jewelers said that the setting wasn''t well made and the prongs had been bent to fit a smaller diamond than intended. It was a touchy situation, not because of the sentimental value but rather my DH wishes I would have said something when we first got engaged and we could have switched the setting easily then. I now wish I had said something when we first got engaged but we found a wonderful jeweler down here in FL (we moved from OH) and we both love the end result; he saw how happy I was with it. Although I do love it, it''s far from my ideal ring but until that 20 year upgrade, I''ll take it
