I have a problem, I am naturally indecisive, and almost all diamonds are gorgeous, so I have been through a few "engagement rings" in my almost 3 years of marriage. Here is my newest:

AGS report:
Round Brilliant
J color, IF clarity
.598 carat, 5.44-5.47 x 3.31 mm
Ideal cut, symmetry, and polish
Depth: 60.7 %
Table: 57%
Crown angle: 33.9 degrees
Pavilion angle: 40.8 degrees
girdle is thin to medium, faceted

Set in a 6-prong 18K setting with Plat prongs, and I ordered the "matching" wedding ring, as my original wedding ring is rather bulky and a horrible purchase in hindsight. The wedding band is a little snug, so I may be exchanging it. Here are the only pictures I have so far with my iPhone in less than optimal indoor lighting.

I do love this little thing, and I am already fantasizing about stacking rings.

Love your new set, allie!! You can never go wrong with a timeless classic! And getting different bands is a great way to have change over time without changing the whole set!

(I will say, though, that the wedding band does not look like the matching band to me. Are you sure it is? The height of it off the finger does not look the same as the e-ring, and it looks wider.)

It's beautiful and elegant!!

That is exactly my problem with the wedding band. It sits a lot lower, which may be so it will sit more flush under the prongs? I would rather exchange it for one that has the same height and live with a little more space between them.

I love your new e-ring! Your set is beautiful, elegant and classic!!!

I love the look! I do think a perfect match would be better for the wb, though.

I don't think you can go wrong with a simple solitaire! It looks great!

Great look! You have a lovely set :lickout:

I'd agree if they said this was matching it doesn't really look like it is. Th ering band looks like the Tiffany type solitaire with more of a rounded knife edge shank and the band looks like a basic half round. I think matching would be better in this case, when it is something you are going for close is not close enough. The place where you can get away from matches is when you put bands with it that are so different as to be deliberately not matched.

Your ering is gorgeous! How lucky are you to have an IF stone!

Thank you all for the sweet compliments! I definitely adore this little diamond, but the disparity in the band is driving me a little nuts. The problem is the ering is not quite knife-edged, but definitely steeper, and the band is more flat. Really not sure who decided it was the complimentary band, but they were WRONG. I am trying to search now for a band that would be more similar to the ering. Any suggestions?

Beautiful ring! Can't go wrong with a solitaire and this is clearly my favourite style so I'm a little biased :)) .

In terms of matching wedding band, I have gone through quite a few over the years trying to find the one, as my solitaire was knife edge, but a bit rounded towards the head. It was impossible for some reason, everybody had different ideas about what was 'matching'. I have recently gotten the vatche solitaire setting and vatche made me custom a matching knife edge band, which I should hopefully get next week. So I recommend you get a good jeweller to make you a perfect match...

Beautiful! Love how you can see arrows even in a quick iPhone pic!

Yes! I am trying to get my real camera to cooperate to take better pictures, the arrows are so crisp until I hit the button. And I am so happy I went with the J because I saved money and it looks so white in everyday lighting. The IF clarity is a random bonus, it just happene to be the best deal in my limited budget.

Classic and timeless, just beautiful :cheeky:

Just perfect. Looks like a nice size for your finger

I commented on your other thread so I will just restate that I think your set is beautiful and I'm super jealous over your long skinny fingers!!!!!

So pretty!!! Love the look of a classic solitaire, and how cool to have an IF diamond! :sun:

Your ring is beautiful and classic! Lower color stones like yours are a fantasic way to maximize a budget. I personally wear a K color diamond. Enjoy your ring!

Timeless, classic and elegant! :appl:
