Okay so I'm going all out and trying on as many solitaire styles as I possibly can. For reference my finger size is 5 and excuse my short nails (I just had a bad experience with shellac) and pen marks.

So I've been doing research trying to figure out what I like. I walked past Tiffany's and thought...well it won’t hurt to try right?.

I love the classic knife edge, but I wasn't sure I could deal with a gap between ering and matching wedding bands. I thought I'd be dead set on the shared prong. Interestingly enough I didn't like it. I realised I didn't like it because I could see the prongs, and on top of having a 6 prong ering it was just too much.

Now, the Channel set. I have to say I really disliked Channel set bands...until I saw the Tiffany Channel set. I tried on the Channel set band) it’s too big for the ering its 3mm and a size 6) but I fell in love and was super surprised. I think it’s because it not only sat low but to my eye seems to like the cleaner lines I was super surprised that I liked it.

Does anyone have the tiffany Channel set or a great replica? If so how do you find it after it’s a little dirty?

Moving on, I tried the thin shared prongs on either side and didn't like that. So they pulled out the matching wedding bands for the Soleste in the 2m (I think or could be 1.5). I also thought this was quite lovely.

One thing I was surprised about is I currently have an ering that has great finger coverage even at the 1.2 and it could be me but 2ct really doesn't look as big as I thought it would on my finger, even though I'm a size 5. Maybe it's all in my head but I was really surprised at how small it actually looked.

So what do you think?

I was never a huge fan of the channel set band either until I got mine from Tiffany's. I love the way the stones are set - the diamonds look like a continuous ribbon of bling! I had tried on other channel set bands where the stones were too far apart or maybe not the best cut stones so I was stunned with the Tiffany channel set band. It does have a clean polished metal and diamond look - my favorite! Mine is 3 mm and I've had it now almost four years - looks as beautiful as the day I got it!

I clean my rings every day in the ultrasonic so don't ever really see this band dirty. I think that even if I didn't do that, hand washing with clear liquid soaps still keeps the ring clean with no soap buildup.

I love the picture of the six prong diamond with the channel set band! Did you take a picture of your current ering with any of the bands?

I have the 2mm for my solitaire and personally like the look of one delicate band.img_8076.jpg
Whiteflash makes an ACA 2mm channel-set that I would love to see in person.
I think it would look pristine longer due to the super-ideal cut stones : )

Me too I'm glad I'm not the only one that was so surprised!.

MissGotRocks --> No i didn't my current E-ring is way to fussy on its own. Which is one of the reasons I want to sell/consign or maybe keep the princess centre stone and upgrade.

I had my husband give me a RHR and a wedding ring. here it is below

Also I love your tiffany band it sits beautifully with your 3stone ring :)

I used to hate channel sets...until I tried one on! I love the amount of blingy-ness they provide as well as being really protective. I find mine super easy to clean (it's not a tiffany though).

Here's a Show me the bling thread on channel sets. There's at least one tiffany set in there (ame's). https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/show-me-your-channel-set-rings.197000/

I really like the split bands on either side. Another option is the shared prong from Tiffany & Co

Maccers: love your set!

Re: My trip to tiffany with pics. (classic solitaire with ba

What could be nicer than being invited on a shopping trip involving a beautiful solitaire and assorted wedding bands? Great thread!
I'm not generally a fan of channel set but I agree with you on this one and I voted for it above. Before buying a plain platinum band from De Beers to match my e-ring, we went into Tiffany to try on their diamond bands. I have to say I blown blown away by the choice and how nice they all were. I'd definitely recommend anyone looking three particularly as the scary mark-up is less brutal in absolute terms than it is on the engagement rings (proportionately I assume its the same)

Actually I've just looked in my purse and found the dog eared sales assistant's card and apparently it was their 2mm platinum channel set that was my favourite and rival with the De Beers band that I eventually went for! Hmmmm! Maybe a future anniversary band...

The comfort and security of channel set is another big plus in it's favour for a band you plan to wear daily. I recently bought a beautiful pre-loved Cartier diamond full eternity shared prong to wear with my RHR and I do find it a bit prickly and worry about it not being clean (I'm OCD about ring cleanliness) I'm not wearing that band every day.

I didnt see the shared prong band with your ering...would like to see that before I vote. Any pictures?

I wish the pics turned out...I should have checked before I put my phone away. The came out so blurry that you couldn't make out the rings :(

Yes you're so right the bands are nothing price wise compared to their e-ring. example - 2.01 ct H VS1 in the Classic tiffany was quoted to me at around $80,000 AUD which is roughly 64000 USD.

I'm looking at getting the e-ring in a replica and probably getting a matching diamond band straight from tiffany as you said it's not hugely expensive considering what it is :) if I went Channel set I think the 3mm as pictured above is too big for a 2ct solitaire so probably around the 2.5mm mark.

Re: My trip to tiffany with pics. (classic solitaire with ba

Great pics from Tiffanys! I agree with the others that the channel set band looks the best with the solitaire.

I also love your RHR. :appl:

Re: My trip to tiffany with pics. (classic solitaire with ba

I went to Tiffany's recently with my husband looking for a diamond band to wear with my solitaire. Like you I was sure I would end up with a shared prong band, but I didn't care for the profile or the way it set up next to my solitaire. I tried on many bands and ended up with the 3mm channel set like the one MissGotRocks has only in platinum. I've only been wearing it for about a month, but I love it. It is just such a quality piece and it has a subtle prettiness that compliments rather than overwhelms the diamond in my solitaire. I am a channel set convert, but I have to say that I think your current ring is just gorgeous!

I also have the Tiffany Channel set in 2mm (I got the half eternity), and I also have a Kwiat full eternity that's 2mm which is VERY similar to the Solstice band. Here are picks of my BGD Tapered Tiffany setting with each:

(with my spacer 1.5mm plain band)

And here's with the Kwiat:

just the ering and band, which I had to take for this bec I realized I never took one prior to now!

(with my 1.5mm spacer)

I actually love Tiffany's Channel, it's really about the only one I like. Pricewise it was ridiculously reasonable. It was only like $200-$300 above anyone else's, even copies. I think the width of the metal is perfect in ratio to the diamond channel. It doesn't overpower the stones. I'd probably consider a dupe from BGD though, if I didn't do the brand, because they make one low and similar. I actually used to have a band from Martin Flyer that was just like my Kwiat but poorly made, and after I got over the sting of that and so many bad custom jobs in a row, I decided it was time to go with a Channel, because I just could not deal with prongs. Had I not gotten a screaming deal on my Kwiat, I'd likely avoid prong set for a while longer (I wanted a fishtail pave from BGD).

I have owned Shared Prongs in the past and found them too easily banged and damaged so that was definitely never a consideration for me again. My Facets Collection shared prongs were very well made, but I just was constantly worrying about damage. It was mentally draining. So it was either fishtail (like the solstice or my Kwiat/BGD) or a Channel. The Channel is great. SO much less concern, esp in a half eternity. And as far as cleanliness: Mine has not been an issue to keep clean. I clean it all the time even with dish soap. But I also never wear it where it would be a "situation", ie around cooking, cleaning, gardening. Well, I never hardly wear my rings at all. But I haven't had issues with gunk. Even when I dunk it in food. (Left handed eater.)

Also, sidebar: I had a car wreck in Sept that damaged my Tiffany Channel and mangled my old setting, and Tiffany was able to fix it PERFECTLY, even with a bend in the channel. You'd never know, and they did so at the most insanely reasonable price. I was very pleased.

I have both 3mm channel Set & shared prong Tiffany bands and love them both. I switch them to get a different look. I get more bling from my share prong, so it is my favorite.

Re: My trip to tiffany with pics. (classic solitaire with ba

I tried on channel bands in Beverly Hills and fell absolutely in love comfy, wearable without worry, and oh so pretty!! I love the substantialness in my middle finger and the smoothness I feel in between fingers. No pokey prongs or catching like with a shared prong. Tiffany and co channel is a fantastic choice

Re: My trip to tiffany with pics. (classic solitaire with ba

Thank you everyone so very much! Really great to get everyone's opinion.

BTW i went back in, tried on the shared prong and I loved it the best lol! I didn't like it originally because he tried to pair the 3.5mm with the 2.04 ct solitaire that's why I thought it was too..prong'y?

a 2.5 or 3mm would be much better. :)

Lets be honest though I'd get the shared prong and the Channel for every day wear :D
