My vintage sapphire ring project!

Well it is almost done! I am so excited! Much engraving left to do but the sapphire looks so great and I am so glad to have found it with all the help from Minousbijoux, Chrono, Freke and others. Thank you all for the helpful eye with the setting too. What an awesome (and stressful) project but so worth it.

Stats: .86ct VS1 medium blue sapphire and 1ctw H/I SI2 OEC diamonds set in platinum.

Thanks Freke!!!!!!! He says it should be done next week so hopefully it will be to me by Christmas! It is my Christmas present from DH but I fully expected it to be done later than that. So excited I can't stand it! That sapphire is the perfect color in my eyes!

Thank you all! Minous what do you think of the sapphire set in there? I hope you love it as much as I do. I know you don't like big rings but it looks so pretty sitting in the center with its lovely shade of blue.

Redwood: Congrats! It really looks fabulous. Can we have hand shots and maybe in softer lighting like outside? The light is so harsh that it is washing out the pic - the metalwork and the sapphire alike. I just want to see it properly done justice Again, it looks beautiful but I would love to see some more photos in other lighting conditions. Yay!!!

The engraving looks well done. I can't wait to see it on your hand. It is a pity the beautiful ring is overpowered by the flash lighting because I want to be able to see the delicate details between the diamonds.

It came! It came! I was very sneaky since DH is gone and took two crappy pics to tide us over until I can do a proper photoshoot on Christmas. I just love it! The overall size is just right without being too ginormous. The detail is so amazing and the color of the sapphire is absolutely perfect!!!! It does not get too dark inside and the cut is so flashy! My shots are in the sun and the one is kinda blurry. I will wear it on my middle right hand finger but you get the idea. Oh this turned out so excellent and I cannot believe I actually have it! Now I have to put it away and just dream about it until Christmas - or come here and stare at the pics. Took one with my vintage Art Deco diamond watch.
