My vintage sapphire ring project!

Turned out beautiful! That sapphire looks gorgeous bezelled, and the shape/proportions of the ring really suits you... and what fun to open it up again on Christmas morning!

Shhhh....don't let DH see this. It's gorgeous! I don't know how you do it but I wouldn't be able to take the ring off and hide it away until Christmas.

This is absolutely gorgeous--definitely an heirloom!! At least now you have the hand pics on PS to look at until you get it for real...

Back to look at my own pics. Ugh this is killing me - we are going out to dinner tonight and I want to wear it!

BTW - DH's birthstone is sapphire and mine is diamond - so I have a combined birthstone ring for us! :twirl:

My DH let me open it early today! He totally gets me.

The close-ups in the light box do not show the faceting of the stone but the one perspective shot is what I see when I look at it on my hand. This is so beautiful! I see that I did not really get a pic of the engraving that goes all the way around but will take some more.

Pics!

Light boxes do not show the sparkle in the OECs but they are so pretty!

It is absolutely stunning!!!!!!!!

Fabulous ring; I can now see the details of the "cut-outs" and milgrained ribbons. David(?) Klauss did a great job on your ring. I'm delighted that you received your ring a few days early and it matches the blue hands of your gorgeous watch too. :appl:

Beautiful ring! :D That sapphire turned out to be perfect for a bezel setting. I'm so glad it found a good home!

Woooooweeeeee! :o That is crazy beautiful! Thank you for all the glorious pics!

She is wonderful in this setting! Thank you for deciding not to keep her! :appl:

Wow
Your ring is so stunning!!!!!
Just gorgeous

Back with a question: is it just the luck of the photographs or is it really that much of a color shifter of a sapphire? I don't remember it being that way, which is why I ask - I remember it as being quite consistent in its hue...

Do you mean the difference seen between when it is on the red ribbon and the other props? I think because I had it by the window I was getting different light and dark than when it was in the light box with the pearls. Now that it is set I never see the very slight purplish tint I saw when it was loose. And the video in Lowe's just blows me away because the blue is so vibrant and dark. But I think that is the lighting and video. I love it so much more now that it is in the bezel and am so lucky to have gotten it at such a good price! I think it was meant to be in a bezel and in my ring because the size is perfect too!

Yes, I have to agree. It looks its best - perfect vibrant blue - in your setting. The whole thing is just gorgeous and someday, someone will inherit an utterly beautiful heirloom ring.
