Yes, the cost of argyle stones are crazy. Argyles have pink and blue/violets the more common/ known colours, the iconic reds...but, i also have see that they have browns.

And, yes it would be nice to have one.... but the provenance is quite pricey.
so, buy FCD's for colour.... that is what makes it all worth it.

I finally got some sizing beads!

The ring was made to fit over my dislocated / knobblier ring finger.
being a dislocated finger it meant that the ring spun in the normal (sitting) position. I played with it due to the spin. Sadly, it also meant the top part of the ring spun to the under surface and it got scratched a couple of times.

because of that, I got sizing beads and picked them up today, just in time for Xmas!!

and whammo!!! What an immediate improvement... No spin!!!
love it!!

It’s been a while in the making. And, it is finally here!
I have been a fan of FCD’s for a while. And it was befitting that I got something for my wedding set to reflect my family.

I have been on a roll with my collection of late. And, this is probably the one set to rule them all... for my left hand, at least! Lol.

This search was for my significant birthday in a few years. Given the prices of FCD’s increasing I thought to start the search now.

The design is solitaire and a matching band.
The solitaire is set to one side in a semi- tension setting that I love for solitaires.
The matching band- 6 melee to reflect the number of family members, set to one side.

The stones:

Solitaire: 0.11ct Fancy gray violet which makes the stone look the kind of blue that I like...and I found out it has fluorescence after I got the ring, when I was asked about my green in another thread.


Melee: 2 vivid blues (my DH and me)
4 vivid pinks (our four daughters)
Metal is 18kWG brushed finish.


These are not Argyles stones, as much as I would love to have them. The closure of the mines in 2020, has started the price rise for these 2 colours over the last few years. If they were argyles, it would have increased costs by 2.5x.

lol....my cellar is stocked.
so I collect bling with the intent to pass down- I am just the wearing caretaker till they are old enough to appreciate.... well.... that is what I say now...hahahahah.

Thanks! It’s a Boone Ring. The flat venus if I remember correctly. It’s made of Cobalt Chrome which I love. I’m hoping to upgrade the MRB diamond to a higher color and “super ideal” cut but I think I will have the same setting remade. Who made yours? Are they white gold?

Yes Boone has beautiful settings and that chrome is really nice and white/ silver.

this set was made by Langermans in belgium and in 18k WG.
I have a tension style (With a bar under the diamond) for an asscher in 18kWG as well.

I remember your asscher! I joined PS in 2013 to learn about diamonds and I seem to remember you had just purchased yours. I see you’ve amassed quite a collection since then (he said jealously)!
