I want to go with a White Chocolate Martini because I think a White Signature drink is Elegant for a Wedding.
It is also a Black, White, Magenta, and Antique Gold wedding ( looks nicer than it sounds )

Do you think many people will drink it ? It is a late afternoon, early evening November wedding.

What is a cute name for it ?

I thought of Bliss Kiss.. too cutesy?

Cute name!

If it has milk/cream in it I dont think I''d even try it, sorry. Not to be mean but most people dont drink milky drinks. They remind me of Grasshoppers or Pink Ladies...Unless the "white" is from something else? What''s in the actual drink?

What are these drinks please Miss Surf??

Oh I remember the Grasshopper!!! It was yummmmmy.

, they were sort of "ladies drinks" back in the 50's-60's...both being milk or cream based with a cloyingly sweet taste (because you know, women cant handle real booze like a man can, at least I think that was the thought back in the day!). The Grasshopper was green and IIRC it's milk/cream with Creme de Menthe. The Pink Lady was cream with egg white, gin and grenadine. I'm feeling nauseated just writing it out!

Now if this white chocolate martini had no milk/cream in it, I might try it, but I'm not a big drinker at all. Maybe you can put a Hershey Kiss on the rim of the glass?

a play on names that you and your FI share would be a good idea. My sister wants me to do a signature drink as well. to bad the only "drinks" we like are called
"pain Killer"
"dark & stormey"
"redheaded slut"

lol! how about those for a wedding!!

actually, we might take the painkiller and rename it to something like "swedish" or "towel" (names we call eachother).

I would love to know what the ingredients are too!
regardless, you can have any signature martini you want regardless of color and name it this : (insert last name here) - tini!

For example, last name "Smith" or "Jones" - Smitini, Smithtini, Jontini, Jonestini, etc!

Or if you want to stick to a name based on the white drink - I would do "Cloud Nine"!

I don''t know. I would personally just call it what it is- a White Chocolate Marinti. That way your guests don''t have sit and read what''s in the drinks (if you were going to post a sign with a description on the bar) or the bartender doesn''t have to field a hundred questions of "What''s a Bliss Kiss?" But maybe I''m no fun, so go ahead and give it a different name if you want.

As for the question of whether people will drink it, I''m not sure about that either. It sounds more like a dessert/after dinner drink to me, not a drink to go with appetizers and the main course. Put a different way- chocolate and shrimp cocktail don''t mix very well in my book. So, if you do serve it, maybe serve it with your cake instead of at cocktail hour??

Wow.....thanks for the explanation!!!

It is actually White Godiva with Vodka. It will be presented on a tray at the bar with a sign saying what the drink is

This is in addition to an open bar. I thought it would be cute with the Hershey Kiss....
but I was afraid it might not be "Appropriate for our Cocktail Hour"
Oy Vye - Another change to the Event Coordinator ...

Any other ideas for our signature drink... I thought BLISS KISS was perfect because it sounds like a wedding drink,
and it is usually served with a Hershey Kiss...

Maybe my guest will be a bit adventerous..???

But is it real white chocolate IN the drink? I''m not getting it. I have to agree though with whomever said that chocolate cocktails and savory canapes, etc. dont really go so maybe you can do the chocolate drink with desert or as an after dinner cocktail, and go with something not sweet for the cocktail hour?

Maybe it is just a Florida thing, but chocolate martinis are very popular in the bars down here. Personally, I think I could drink one for breakfast, lunch, OR dinner! The open bar will take care of those who aren't fancy on the idea.

I say go for the white chocolate martini! The name Bliss Kiss is cute, but I really like HaloAngel's idea of the name "cloud nine"

"Godiva White Chocolate Liqueur is an exceptionally rich, creamy-tasting white chocolate liqueur with the world-famous Godiva name. "

Chocolate Martini''s used to be (and still are?) popular in SF. I don''t drink Martini''s though. It sounds tasty though... not in that white russian 1/2 and 1/2 kinda way. As long as you don''t add milk or creamer it sounds like it would be fine... and you don''t drink too many.

I agree that it sounds like a dessert drink though.

Why don''t you do some kind of champagne cocktail? Everyone would''ve come from your ceremony so they''re already in a celebratory mood. Those will be tasty with hors d''oeuvre too. :)

Godiva makes flavored liqueurs such as dark, white and milk chocolate. Mix them with a little vodka and they are quite yummy!

I think a white chocolate martini sounds DELICIOUS!

If people don''t want to drink it, they can order whatever they want from the open bar. Bliss Kiss is a very cute name, though I think it is also fun to personalize it a bit more with your names or something specific to your marriage (like the lastname-tini idea).

We had a signature drink passed out to our guests as they left the ceremony and entered the cocktail area. Our coordinator told us that the main purpose is to divert some people from going to the bar, because that''s the one time that the line for the bar tends to get really long. So with that in mind, you really can go with whatever you would like. If guests don''t like it, oh well they can go to the bar and get a drink that they do like. I was surprised at how many people really liked our drink (white cosmo layered with hypnotiq) and went back for seconds and thirds. I thought it wouldn''t really appeal to the guys, but I was wrong. So definitely go with what you like- you may be surprised with how many people like it!

A white chocolate martini sounds really good to me. I love mint chocolate martinis, so I''m sure I''d love a white chocolate one as well. And most of my friend group loves cream/milk drinks. We all love White Russians. (Although I don''t love the amount of calories they have in them!) I think your name is really cute and the idea with the hershey''s kiss is lovely as well.

If you decide to veer away from the chocolate-y drink, perhaps a margarita? I''ve had some that were pretty white. I think if it is mixed with fresher ingredients rather than a premade mixture, it will be whiter. Of course, this is a winter wedding, so a margarita might be out.

Maybe you could do a white hot chocolate drink with shots of different liquers - Bailey''s or Kahlua or Amaretto, etc. If you think guests might be a bit chilled. Then maybe when they first come in they can have the warm drink, have whatever they want with the food from the open bar and then you could offer the white chocolate martini with dessert/after dinner. Maybe that''s too much...

How about ''Mink?" The word ''mink'' makes me think of elegance and sophistication.

Martini Mink?

ooo thanks for the drink explanation....the godiva liquers sound TDF!!!

Correct me if I''m wrong anyone, but Surf, I don''t even think the liqueur itself is creamy like Bailey''s. I think it''s clear. And delicious!

You should put Hershey''s Hugs on it! Get the white and milk thing going on. Yum! I like Cloud Nine as a name.

I think it''ll be fine since it''s not the only drink. If there''s an open bar where people who don''t want it can drink whatever they do want, I think you''re good. It sounds really delicious to me!

Aww, I like pink ladies!

They are actually not very sweet--the cream & egg white forms a sort of frothy topping and the gin/applejack/grenadine mixes to make sort of a dry tart drink that packs quite the punch. Granted, I am also a huge fan of old-fashioned cocktails, so I''m kind of biased.

Crystal, white chocolate martinis are really popular--I''m sure people would drink them. What about a name like Crystal Cacao?
