Hi all, I am new here! I got a 20 ct natural blue star sapphire stone, it came with a GIA cert stating that there is no heating and its translucent to semi translucent. Just want to know what is the value of such stone . The star is nice and clear. But there r silk ....

Gemloverrs, we wish it were that easy, but unfortunately, there are so many variables. What treatment has the stone had? There are many which have been treated to make the star more pronounced and these can be bought relatively cheaply. What color is the stone? Is it a rich, saturated blue or is it light, or greyish, or cloudy? What is the cut like? In terms of its clarity, is it uniform, or are there some areas that are more translucent than others? I know if it were on the transparent side of translucent, it would be much more appreciated and sought after than one which is translucent to semi- translucent. If you can answer those questions, then some on here might be able to give you a rough ballpark, but without it, it would be pretty hard. You might also want to google natural star sapphire and look at the vendors which the search returns to see what is comparable. That will give you a start on value.

And photos would help. Lots and lots of photos. :)

Lots of pictures and detailed description of the stone will help greatly. Asking such a generic question is akin to saying I have this big blue pen and would like to know its value.

Hey Chrono: I have this big blue pen - can you help me with the value? :naughty:

Sorry MB, but you'll have to ask this question in the Pen Forum.
