Need advice on prongs please!

I thought I would revisit this thread as I have just placed a custom order with HPD on my setting... I was wondering whether you went with their HP platinum or a traditional platinum. And how are your prongs coming? They told me 6 week wait... ouch, but I am planning to negotiate to 5 weeks.

I haven't pulled the trigger yet! Melissa told me to give it a few weeks and see how I feel about them. Most of the time it's fine, it's just when I sit and stare I wish they were more delicate. Sometimes though I think it makes the ring a bit unique from a traditional tiffany type setting so I waiver.

I went with their better platinum and I'm happy with the weight.

The 6 week wait is really why I'm hesitating. I'm not sure that it would be that long for me but I assume it'll be a while. I've been on this upgrade journey since November (not all with HPD, diff vendors that I ultimately returned the ring) and I'm ready to be done!

Congratulations on your new setting! Oh and to give you hope, it ended up being 5 weeks for me, not 6!

I completely hear you as I am in a very similar situation! I started my upgrade journey in December 12th - two different vendors - neither of them I actually liked (mostly their upgrade policy.) The more I learned about diamonds the picker I got and CBI is supposed to be (and hopefully is) my last stop. Btw, I went with their better platinum as well even though I am not quite sure it would make any difference. We shall see. I do like their polishing work and overall symmetry of the settings.

It is a lot of money at stake so make sure you are completely happy with the prongs. If it keeps bothering you, return it for a quick adjustment (even though I understand that you have been waiting this long and it is time to enjoy the ring now.)

I could have sworn I already responded...anyway, FWIW I love your prongs as they are! They are mini tab prongs and I think they are cool. They are definitely not unsightly or too big or anything, at least IMHO Your ring is gorgeous...your profile pic is amazing.
