Looking for a diamond just over 1 carat.

I think I found a setting - the Keystone half Bezel -

Need advice on the following 1.007 ct I SI2 "Expert Selection"-

looks like a pretty good valued eye clean diamond. Scores triple 0's in cut and based on my limited research, seems like you're saving a lot because of the clarity but overall looks pretty good. I just placed a recent order with whiteflash and they have been very helpful to me. I also noticed your username is fremont, does this have to do with your location? Im actually from a city fremont california haha
 
The stone looks great! You do need to ask them a question, though. When I look at the inclusion plot on the AGS report, I cannot see any inclusions plotted, although it just may not be showing up on my screen. However, the area under Key to Symbols is blank. It should list all the types of inclusions in the stone. And we know there are some since it is SI2. You don't want a report with errors like that, so be sure to get that straightened out now. I was just going to check and see what kind of inclusions it had and noticed it wasn't there!
 
Thanks for the responses. I will definitely find out what type and where the inclusions are. Would you have reservations on paying $5500 for a 1 carat that is an SI2? Even though the proportions are ideal? Should I worry more because the setting is a half bezel and the inclusions might be visible from the side?

I noticed that other select 1carat stones drop significantly in price at the SI2 range - like some Brian Gavin select stones are VS2-SI1 at H-I color for similar or less price.

This is one of those situations where the lab report states "Clarity grade based on clouds not shown" - in my opinion, the 40X photo images do display the effect of the clouds, especially noticeable when you compare the SI2's images to other WF Expert Selections. (Of course, the images are super-enlarged so do not represent what you would see with your own eyes.)

A few weeks back I did inquire about this stone and more than one WF representative assured me that in real life, the stone was beautiful, with no haziness, and only minor diminishment to its performance perhaps unnoticeable to the untrained eye. I was told that the stone was assessed carefully by WF and put into its Expert Selection category (rather than its Premium Select class); and that WF errs on the side of caution in assigning stones to its categories, so if in any respect it did not meet the Expert Selection standard, it would not have been placed there.

One of the WF reps mentioned that only if this Expert Selection SI2 was right next to an ACA would you notice the SI2 was not as crisp.

Lastly, I was told the stone faces up quite white and bright - but that if I had concerns about seeing a hint of color from the side (I too have a semi-bezel ring setting similar to the Keystone), this stone might not be right for me. [As I was contemplating upgrading from an E-SI1 ACA and keeping the half-bezel setting, I finally decided against this stone... but I still find it beautiful and a very very good value.]
 
I now see the "clouds not shown" comment, but I think it is odd they don't plot anything!

You'd have to ask if the stone is 100% eyeclean from the sides. You can't assume that is true. I'd feel better with VS1 when the sides are totally exposed, but it is possible this one is.
 
 
Those really aren't BG cut stones. They are just virtual stones. That is not the place to buy virtual stones. I'd only use BG and WF for in-house stones that they have had cut for their inventories.
