GIA rated stone. GIA report attached.
Shape: Square Modified Brilliant (Princess cut)
Carat: 3.01
Color: F
Clarity: VS2 (can't see any inclusions to the naked eye as per jewler).
Polish and symmetry are excellent. There was no cut rating, since this is a princess cut and was rated by GIA.
Proportions
Depth: 73.0%
Table: 68%
Girdle: Slightly Thick to Thick
Culet: None
Measurements: 8.04 x 7.71 x 5. 63 mm
Price is around 50 K.
I know the table should be less than the depth, and should fall under certain percentages (which this stone does). I haven't seen the stone yet, but my hesitation is that since GIA doesn't grade cut for princess, and I'm worried maybe the stone won't sparkle under certain lights. I will see the stone before purchase, but maybe under the jewlers light it'll sparkle but what if it doesn't sparkle under other lights when I bring it home? I'm willing to spend the money, but I want the stone to have an excellent cut and really, really sparkle
I know the cut determines this, and was wondering if anyone can give me any advise before my purchase. Can someone look at the GIA report and see if I'm not seeing something vital? I truly appreciate any advise you guys can give, my future wife hasn't asked for a lot besides getting her the best ring I can afford, so I'm really trying to get the best bang for the buck.
One more question I had was some 2.5 carat stones have very similar measurements when compared to the 3 carat stone, maybe being off by a half a mm. Can people tell the difference between a 3.0 carat and a 2.5 carat?
