Some great suggestions... But if you are dead set on the illusion settings. Here's a couple Estate rings crime Jewels by Grace.

Grace has an Art Deco that is similar

This one. It will give your fiance by far the most sparkle and finger coverage for your budget, and a one-of-a-kind look to boot. If she's open to having something unique, get this ring.

Okay, of the ones she likes, this one has the best quality of diamonds:

http://m.costco.com/Princess-Cut-%2526-Round-Brilliant-Diamond-Wedding-Set-%281.50-ctw%29-14kt-White-Gold.product.100099606.html

This one says they use VS2 quality diamonds. Stick with that or SI1 but do not buy a set that has I1-I2 clarity because they can have visible inclusions.

This one is only sizable within one size. Does she wear close to a 7?

I highly recommend costco over kays. I think this is a great set that will suit her tastes and your budget. :wavey:

Showed her the at ring. Was too much going on for her on the top/center of the ring. Thanks for the input though.

Take a look at this MQ... i know i know the CTW isn't huge, BUT if you notice the depth, its not very deep,. What that equates to is a stone that looks larger than its ctw.

http://www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/marquise-cut/0.59-carat-d-color-vs2-clarity-sku-98940

then again this one, though it'll cost an extra 150 to get a MQ set in it.

http://www.jamesallen.com/engagement-rings/pave/18k-white-gold-double-claw-prong-0.16ct-pave-set-diamond-engagement-ring-item-22644 (again add milgraining to match the BN band and asking for the PS discount)

The BN band with the 10% off is coupon if you can manage to find that coupon code... which i can seem to find now though i see it all the time

ETA: found it its SCOPE10 and its free shipping there too so it would make that band 468

Nice diamond!

I know the clarity of the stones isn't top drawer, but that 2nd EricaGrace option posted by Mayk really seems to have alot of wow factor.

Back from a long day at work. I will take a look at your recommendations. I know she told me she found something she liked on James Allen. Knowing her she will be breaking the bank. Lol.

She likes this one. I would have to get a good diamond to go with it. Then get a matching wedding ban. What are your thoughts? She liked another one which I will post when she sends me the link.

http://www.jamesallen.com/engagement-rings/channel-set/14k-white-gold-engraved-princess-shaped-channel-set-diamond-engagement-ring-item-18422

My concern with this is that this setting plus matching band would only leave you about 600 for the stone. You'll need more than that if she wants a stone over half ct

I agree the costco ring is nice. Now she is wanting a single diamond in the center because of horror stories of diamonds falling out when there are more than one piece in the center

so i had an idea....

You said youre pretty much getting engaged and married at the same time right?

So she wont be wearing her e ring on its own(i assume) very much

It might be a bit more budget friendly to buy 2 wedding bands and pop them on either side of a solitaire.

OR if she likes rounds.

http://www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/round-cut/0.72-carat-k-color-vs2-clarity-excellent-cut-sku-40170

with that setting/ band combo from JA/ BN... but does she not like that? youre posting very similar things but havent said if that wouldnt work or not...

Is there any chance she might want a colored stone center vs a diamond... if the shank and the w band is blingy??

I just thought I'd throw this out there - but when I got married, I had picked out my engagement ring with a wider band with diamonds and I didn't want a wedding band. Fast forward a few years later and for my seven year anniversary I found a wedding band with 7 diamonds that I couldn't resist that I bought and now I'm happy with the combination. It took a lot of shopping before I found the perfect diamond band though. That was the thrill of the hunt though! I was happy with one great diamond for a long time until then.

She stated no colored diamond. Think I might have to up my budget by $1000.00

The ja/bn combo was not on the top of her list because she has chubby fingers and she thought the width of the rings were real small and would look funny on her finger.

Ah. I wear a 1/4 size smaller ring size than her and that width is actually very nice. BUT if her fingers are a bit squat I could understand her concern. What if you added a band on either side?

Are you sure you can swing an extra 1k? Are content opening it up between 3-4k

We've thrown out a few shapes. Just to clarify, what shapes does she like? any square/ rectangular cut? Anything that's pointy? Any shape as long as it's big?

You shouldn't have to up your budget if you hadn't planned on it.

Go to a mall store. Try some different shapes and styles on. See what different band widths look like. Definitely don't buy anything. Once you get a better idea what she likes and what looks good, you'll have an easier time finding something.

She definitely likes the look of these rings. So if I can find something similar for less would be great.

Wow Gypsy and forum, great picks.

I think the OP's girl has trouble visualizing rings in a set when not pictured explicitly. Hope she takes the field's advice or considers doing some more in-store try-ons. As a hint - if going to the store for research purposes leave all credit cars at home. There have been so many horror stories posted in the past.

Great job researching and increasing your budget OP, make her happy - don't settle!
