I am very sorry Girlock.I hope you get some positive answers on Tuesday.Daisy , you and family will be in my thoughts..Please post again and keep us up to date.

I am so sorry to hear this, Girlrocks! I dont know how I missed this post the other day. This is so heartbreaking, especially because we thought she was doing better. I will be keeping Daisy and your family in my thoughts and prayers.....And I hope you get some better news today.

Well, the vet called me while she was on vacation, I guess the office staff got in touch with her. Daisy is feeling a little better, so she said as long as she maintains (doesn''t deteriorate) that we can wait until she returns on Wednesday, she said to bring her in 1st thing in the morning, don''t even worry about an appointment. We''ll have to leave her there anyway to do the xrays because they need to sedate her so it will take a while. I told her how much I did not like the other vet, she agreed that it was a horrible experience. I suggested she not have her staff recommend that animal hospital as an emergency/alternative vet when she is unavailable.

She still seems to feel it is a disc/nerve/muscle issue (thank god) rather than a tumor or serious neurological problem, since she has gotten better between episodes and is slowly getting better after this most recent episode. She is very interested in further testing to get to the bottom of the situation so we can treat it. Hopefully the xrays will show something. If not, then we can do some biofeedback testing to see if it is a nerve issue (I told you, my vet takes a holistic approach, which I love!). She can also manipulate her hips while she is sedated for the xrays to see if they are popping out of the socket due to the displasia and maybe that is the problem.

So we just need to get to Wednesday, drop her off there and let her do some indepth testing to see what she may find.

Luckily we live in Maryland and are about 2 blocks from the water, so she suggested that we start exercising her by swimming when the weather gets warmer. We usually bike or walk, and while walking is still good, she is getting a little too old to take the impact from running long distances and said that swimming is a fantastic low impact exercise..and what lab doesn''t love water, right? I just have to deal with a stinky dog each time, so I''ll have to overcome that...maybe I''ll take some baby shampoo to the beach with us each time and give her a quick shampoo after playing?? I guess not.

Thanks for everyone for your well wishes. I will keep you posted and please continue to pray that this is something easily treatable.

I''m so glad to hear things are looking up a little! I will continue to keep your pup in my prayers, I hope she continues to feel better.

While you''re waiting until Wed, can you have the acupuncturist do some treatments on your pup? Also, do you know anyone with a heated pool? If so, that would be great for her swimming or just moving around and with heated water, it''s good for warming up muscles, etc. I did warm pool therapy for a back injury and it''s great because there''s motion work without an weight bearing issues.

well, I thought since you all were being so nice as to keep Daisy in your thoughts, you should at least know who you''re thinking about!

OMG, I just love her! Aw, what a sweetie! I am glad that the vet does not feel that this is anything more serious than a disc/nerve issue. I will continue to think about Daisy and pray for her, she really is adorable!

checking in.
prayers continue.

Thanks everyone. She is sad in the picture, because I am telling her to stay and she wants to get the camera. I have no idea, but whenever I try to take her picture, she wants to get right into the camera and I have to keep telling (shouting) at her to stay, stay, stay...so that''s why she looks sad! She does have very big dark eyes, she seems like an old soul!
