@-Asscher- your setting is better than the new one you have as an inspiration. That open and high set profile will leave your diamond exposed to damage, I am really not a fan. I think what you need is a skillful jeweler to touch up your existing prongs. They are a bit uneven and bulky. This shouldn’t be difficult and/or expensive, but can greatly improve he overall look. If you are comfortable sharing your general location, perhaps we can recommend a good local jeweler.

Yes that is why I’m worry with the other setting wouldn’t be secure.
I live in Maryland
I bought my ring from local jewelry store in Boston, MA.
The setting is vintage handmade from 1970s.

Update on my e-ring,
After all the comments and opinions from everyone here we all like and think the original setting is good for my center stone ( the size of my diamond ).
I like my original setting because I love baguette and its simple clean style BUT it’s been forever I love Verragio’s style ( the prong )
So I decided to reset my Asscher with Verragio setting that custom make for my stone’s size ( the Verragio setting that I got is from old style that they not making anymore “retired” or whatever they called it )
Very similar style with the original setting in my opinion just with the new setting I got that prong I really loved.

Yes I totally agree with you! And don’t know if just my eyes but with the new setting my stone look little bit bigger?!
I really love Asscher Cut with baguettes together, very simple and classic! Never out of style
