Need help selecting a diamond!

So I did things backwards....I asked without a ring (she said yes!)...and now she is eagerly waiting for her new bling!

We've decided on a ring similar to the 'Lynn B Harmony' which will be made by whiteflash. Now I'm just selecting a diamond to go with it. Requirements - 1ct, round, ideal and eye clean. As white as possible and eyeclean. Here are a few options I'm looking at:

Should I stay away from the 'J' colors and just decide between one of the 'I' colors??? I'm not sure which one to pick. My plan is to narrow them down to 2 diamonds and ask whiteflash to look at both of them and make a suggestion of which one I should go with.

Some people can see the color in the J, and if you are aiming to say as white as possible i would avoid. Waht I would do is pull that J VS2 and those 2 I's and have them take pictures of all three together, as well as tell you if the they are eye clean from the top and sides at 6 inches. You can tell with the comparitive photos if the J is to warm for your blood

An aca is a fabulous choice. Any of those will be lovely. But at those clairities you want to to be sure that they a're clear from the top and sides from whatever distance you are comfortable with. Most people say 6 in

I'd eliminate the J's and choose the cleanest of the two I color stones. Also ask if one is whiter than the other if they are both really clean from top and sides.

I agree I would go with the I hearts and arrows S1....Although I would love to see a G-H color with S1

oh my goodness!! Take a look at this 1.17 VS2 I, HCA at 1.8 and on the cert it says H&A in the comments

So I ended up going with the 1.012ct I SI1. It was cleaner compared to the other I color I was looking at. I was verified that the diamond I selected was eye clean from the top and sides at 6". I finally put in the order, now to wait! Thank you to everyone that made suggestions and helped out. This site educated and helped me soooooo much.
