*these pics are of cz rings*

I love the look of different stacked bands for a wedding ring. So many websites show pics of stacked bands and more then one solitaire, I'm thinking why not? I love love love solitaires RB. How do you all feel about the idea of a rb solitaire as a wedding band?

Here are pics of the idea w cz's and a band (different color metal, but knife edge, plain and bubble textured)

Now here is a pic of my 6.2mm e-ring and then the James Allen one I love and would get as a 4.5 mm or so. I would put a plain Tiffany gold band between.

All would be 18k yellow gold with yellow gold prongs, but have different textures which I love.

My real question is "is this too much or crazy looking?"

I had that exact combo with my old wedding set and loved it. The e-ring was a .5 RB solitaire in a YG band and the custom wedding band had a .20ish RB. They matched perfectly and the wedding band was like a mini-me of the e-ring, just set lower so they fit flush. I don't have a pic to show you unfortunately but they looked great together !

Just personal preference, but I feel like it's a bit too much and the look just doesn't appeal to me. I guess I just like my ering diamond to be the star of the show. I think two solitaires compete with each other. I would stick with a diamond band if you want a little more bling.

Since you're asking peoples' opinions, I don't care for that look. I think a simple plain or a pave wedding band would be more my style.

Ya I wish I could find the pics online that had them. It was jewelry ads (I've seen 3) with different textured wedding bands (some diamond or colored stone some textured metal) with 2 or 3 solitaires all in WG or Plat. I loved the look in the ad but well all know just because it looks good on a model doesn't mean it will in RL

It's not for me, but if you like it, go for it!

I re-read your post and realized that you want to put two very different looking solitaires together with some other stackables. What I had was a custom matched set that fit flush together and this style was fairly common in the early nineties, although still unique enough. I really wish I had a pic to show you because it looked quite beautiful. My two diamonds lined up with other though and I think you're thinking of a more random kind of set. I posted a couple of links below to what I think is the general idea you're going for, but not quite exactly based on your description. It's the third pic on the right for the first link. I'm kind of leaning with the majority in that you don't want to distract from your beautiful solitaire or compete too much with it so a nice simple band might be a better idea. You can always do the stackable idea with smaller diamonds or gemstones for a RHR which would look great! Good luck whatever you decide :)

Yes! Thank you for finding these. The etsy one is more thee look. I think the DB one is to rough looking.

Ya I think I will try and find the right stacking bands. I should message JA and see if I could get that ring as just a band.

I don't mind it so much for a RHR but really think its too much for a wedding set.
(But to each their own and if you like it wear it!)

I am sure you can find a rope design wedding band if the JA one doesn't have the matching wedding band. But add me to the list of those who wouldn't wear a second solitaire for a wedding band.

I've been noticing this trend, too. I don't know how I feel about it. I'm not totally opposed, just not used to it yet. I say, "...if you like it, then rock it!!"

I considered this idea too! I think it's neat. :D I was trying to look up photos of stacked rings as a wedding set (not eternity bands, but stacking rings with one or two diamonds in each ring.) Different shapes would seem like an interesting idea too. I'm attaching a quick photo I took of some stacking rings I have. The 2 gold ones are too big for my ring finger (I normally wear them on my index finger.) It's not really the best photo of all 3 rings, but it's a neat overall stacked look...

That is lovely! I really think I like the look of different solitares. I'm thinking of doing a .2-.4 on the setting I like, and use it alone when I travel. I go to remote areas of SE Asia and will not take my E-Ring on those trips.

I do think those blend in well, as such you can't tell which is an e-ring. So I know I do my second a lot smaller

Ok, when I saw the first pictures I could not imagine how they worked as IN MY MIND they didn't mesh. That being said, my first reaction is if YOU like it then GO FOR IT! Then the last picture and the etsy listing had me re-evaluate my opinion :twirl: :D that being said, I think it could work! I think maybe it would be fun, however I think it would look if there were more similarities between the solitaries. Having them bezzeled would be great! I think the first pictures are where the rings are sooo different that they don't mesh well. :D

Again even with ALL of that: YOU DO WHAT YOU LIKE BEST!!! :D :D

Thanks! ::) None of those is actually an e-ring, they're just stacking rings I have, but I do think it is an interesting idea! I actually have a 0.38ct solitaire that I've stacked with the 0.25ct round white gold ring in that stack. I don't have a good photo of the 2 together, but I'll try to get one tomorrow so you can see the 2 sizes together. I'm thinking of resetting that small diamond into a different setting, but I'm still not sure what to do with it just yet... Although the wedding band idea has popped into my head too. ;))

ETA: I took a quick photo of the 2. The one in the 6-prong setting is a 0.38ct diamond and the one in the semi-bezel setting is a 0.25ct diamond.

I think this look works if everything is chosen correctly. The first pic was just idea pics for the feel. When it comes close to time to buy a wedding band, I'll try on some of my idea local and take pics to decide before Ordering on line. I hope that staying 4 prong in yg, keeping the new RB small and having some visual texture could work for me.
