Need some inspiration for setting for my sapphire

I have an RB sapphire coming my way and I'm looking for some setting inspiration. I have to a pair of small loose diamonds so I thought I could do a three stone (pending if the colors co-ordinate etc), but I was hoping to see if anyone out there had some inspiration for me as well.

What is the mm measurement of your new sapphire and the pair of diamonds? Are the diamonds well matched in size, colour and cut? It doesn't have to be a halo setting, right?

The sapphire should be around 7-7.5mm. The pair of diamonds are 3.5mm I believe or around that. Perhaps closer to 4mm. And yes they are well matched. They were part of a large eternity band that I had recently reset so I have a few extras to play with. I don't have to use them and still might not, but I thought I would see what's outs there. And no it doesn't have to be a halo either.

I not a round sort of person so I have very few round stones in my inspiration folder. Worse yet, none of them will be able to incorporate your existing diamonds. Sorry. ;(

This 5 stone ring is pretty and might serve as inspiration if you'd like to keep a bezel setting, but not have diamond halos. (This ring is on 1stDibs and there are more photos there.)

I agree! And every time I see pictures of TGal or Yssie's three stones I get weak in the knees! I think octagonal bezels would be incredible with a sapphire center (as long as the sapphire isn't too dark, but I'm sure your's will be perfection). I think you'd want at least 5mm sides for this style though.

Well I think I have thrown out the idea of the side MRB's. Still looking to do a very antique/ Edwardian/ art deco ring though. I would love to find an orginal antique ring instead of paying for a custom repo. I guess I will have to start stalking ebay. I wish there were some antique shops near me :(
 
I found my setting at a local jewelry store. It was an estate piece, and they had sold the diamond. I liked the trapezoid diamonds (0.92ct total). I was originally planning to use rounds, but these were better.
