I have two stones to pick from and I''m not sure which one to choose. Both are lovely. Please share your opinion with me since I need to make a decision in a day or two. Which is a better buy? I know I am probably splitting hairs since the stats on both are similiar but I''ve never purchased ideal cuts before and am nervous about taking the plunge. This will be set as a pendant. Thanks.

Well they are both very lovely! but odd as it is, the higher clarity stone is cheaper, slightly more surface area, and has better Bscope results. they are CLOSE, but I suppose if I had to choose, it would be the second stone...

Good luck and welcome to PS Chrono!!!

Please post pictures when it's set!!!

How are you setting it? FOur prong, three? Basket setting?

Thanks for replying so quickly. I kept refreshing the page for replies every minute or so.

Nicrez,
1. Do the prices seem fair for the stats on the stones? In short, is it a steal?
2. Does it matter that Stone 2 is not a perfect H&A? I don't mind an imperfect H&A as long as the visual results are bling bling to the eye. Since Stone 2 isn't a perfect H&A, is it still a bargain compared to Stone 1?

I haven't thought much about the setting as yet. I love the half bezel but my chain is sort of thick at 2 mm and will not fit most bezel settings. My other indecision is the metal. I love white gold because it makes the stone look whiter but my necklace is 22k yellow gold. What is a girl to do? Sigh.

The stones are so sparkly that I can't stop looking at them all day in every sort of lighting. I usually prefer ECs but thought a RB is better as a pendant.

I agree with Nic. They are very close, so I would go with number 2. With those Bscope results, the H&A will not make a difference. Expecially in a pendant. No one gets as close to a stone in a pendant as they do a ring. Sparkle is what counts, and it looks as if #2 has lots of that and is cheaper!

Unless it's important what is written on a piece of paper, #2 all day long is my choice.

I'd choose number 2

On paper, my choice is #2. Have you seen them in person?

Number two is my choice also.

How exciting for you! Enjoy your necklace

I think #2 is your better choice. All things sound equal yet # 2 is priced less. I wouldn't worry about the H&A being less. I think you have a beautiful diamond and go with it.

BOTH! as a pair of earings

Just kidding.

I vote for #2 as well.

P.S. In response to your second post. 1. I wouldn't say it was a steal, but it is definitely a fair, competitively priced stone. 2. It only matters if it's a perfect H&A if it matters to you, i.e. you're specifically looking for a perfect H&A. If there are slight imperfections in the H&A pattern it most likely will not be visible to the naked eye or affect the visual performance, and i still think it's a better deal than stone 1.

Thank you everyone. After a lot of thinking, it's not what the paper says, it's what my eyes and heart says, so I'm picking #2!

Magnum,
I really was tempted to keep both stones and set them as earrings. Really! I thought about it for a few days but sadly, I already have 2 pairs of diamond earrings and additional pair of 3 stone diamond earrings passed down from my great grandmother but no pendant.

Time to looks for settings...
