EDIT: I see that they are reserved, I hope that was you!

I like the first one,

I was thinking of buying it actually but went with a more expensive setting so the stone budget shrank. I settled down for a .92D VS1. Go for it! Regarding the diamond blings, You know you can buy a simple solitaire and go wit the chanel set or pave for her wedding band. She is going to wear them together anyway (most probably), so make sure she thought of that possibility. Of course this is a personal choice, and you should do whatever she likes, just make sure she thought of some nuances.

Clefted heart: The bottom of the V shape in the hearts of the diamond has small notches of disconnect, that look like paper cuts. Ideal table should be around 55-57%

I went through a lot of analytical stuff but in the end I learned that tabbing the pictures and picking the one that looks the whitest accomplished the goal. Because all that guidelines and images are means to find the stone that looks whiter and brighter and your eyes can quickly do it!

Here is how I do it now, note that these are my guidelines only, there may be better suggestions:
1-Pick the stones that looks whiter in actual photos. they are not really whiter, but they reflect light better as a result of their superior angles and cut quality. I bought mine from WF and it's easy to do that with their website features. Tab them and go quickly over them to compare, eliminate the losers.
2- Start looking at details. Make sure the pavilion angle is not too steep (more than 40.8 ) and crown angle is not more than 34.8. t's OK to exceed them a little as long as the actual photo looks still white, but I wouldn't deviate too much. Pavilion angle is more important than crown, for example, 1 unit increase from these baseline numbers in pavilion needs to be compensated by roughly 2 units of decrease in crown angle and vice versa. In the IS picture, make sure inside the table doesn't look greyish white and maximize the red color. you still need black color for contrast but the y should not appear in areas that are supposed to be red. Same with ASET image, make sure you don't have any greens or blotches in areas where they are not supposed to be.
3-Look at the SARIN report, make sure the measurements are in a tight range. For example, after 8 measurements if the pavilion angle is reported to have a range of 40.7-40.9 the average is reported as 40.8. This is a tight and good range. If the 40.8 is reported as a result of 40.4 - 41.2 measurements that's not so good.

4-Open the AGs report and look at the diamond simulated image, make sure no blues or greens appear where they aren't supposed to be.

For reference, the images of the diamond I recommend are good. You can use ti as a reference point.

....

So after months of agonizing, I finally pulled the trigger!! I was contemplating between the 1st and 2nd one recommended by demirci and I decided to go with #2. http://www.whiteflash.com/loose-diamonds/round-cut-loose-diamond-2231163.htm

I had a lengthy chat with their master gemologist Bob and had him analyze both diamonds. He recommended #2 based on two factors: Price($16.49 cheaper lol) and Inclusion. In his opinion, because there is only 1 feather and it's located on the edge, it could technically pass as a VVS2. In fact, it's alot easier to find inclusions on #1. I mentioned how #1 seems a tad brighter in picture, he looked at both physically and basically said they are equally bright and shiny. It's just that both were taken at different time under different lighting condition. However he did say both are very similar, finding differences are like splitting hairs. So if anyone is looking for a great diamond with similar specs, the 1st one is still available. :wink2:

Thanks all for being so kind and patience with my endless questions. You folks educated and allowed me to make the most informed decisions. Also a big thanks to demirci for pointing out these two diamonds to me, you made it almost too easy.

I am really excited, can't wait for it to arrive. I will take some pics and post em up once I receive it.
