Looks like the TBTY wins hands down.

Next question:
Collet set, bezel or basket?

Collet: just the girdle is enclosed in a bezel. Culet and pavilon is exposed.
Bezel: Entire stone is covered except for the crown.
Basket: well, everyone knows what it is.

Chevron prongs or regular pointy prongs?

Do I save a few stones for matching earrings?
How would I set them?

I vote bezel or collet as I envision a very clean and elegant look. If you do save a couple of stones for earrings, I would vote drops!

Double drops? As in one above the other? I''m worried a single 4 mm stone will not have any impact.

HI:

Holy gauc girl!

Absolutely if you have enough stones, those would be amazing!!!

HI:

I think you do not like larger rings--but how about an eternity ring fitting all the triangles next to each other?? (they actually would fit together geometrically) KWIM??

cheers--Sharon

Sharon,
You are absolutely right. It would look awesome if set to look like squares (fitted see saw pattern) all around in an eternity ring. Unfortunately, I am unable to pull of large rings with my bony short fingers.

Latest update:
There''s only 10 nice tsavorites out of the 14 so that''s all I''m getting. Out of the 10, I was thinking of keeping 2 for earrings which leaves me 8 for the necklace. With a 16" chain, the spacing is every 2 inches which will end up being a 17.25" necklace. 16" is a bit high and 18" too long so 17" would be sweet. Is the gap between stones too large?

Also since I am now limited to 2 tsavs for earrings, how do I spice it up without spending a fortune?

I don't think it sounds like too much space between. I was thinking for earrings...could you get a couple more tsavs in a different shape that are a little bit bigger?

Something like this: link

Or kind of like this: link

I'm not finding anything like what's in my head...

Maybe more like these(which I totally want to wear to my wedding-whenever that might be): link
Instead of the square emeralds have the trillion pointing down towards like an oval or pear tsavorite thats a little bigger? And no diamond in between.

I dunno, it's just an idea.

Like these: square tsavorites and have them set like a kite hanging down from the trillion above?

Is what I''m saying making any sense?

I think that 2 inches is a great size gap. I do not like them too close together. This will be gorgeous!

I like the spacing that you''re talking about, it''d be nice and noticeable but still clean and uncluttered looking. I personally think collet set to keep with the uncluttered look.

For the earrings I think just a simple collet set with the point facing up on a french wire so it hangs and swings a bit.

So many wonderful ideas. Thank you everyone. I''ve opened my checkbook and purchased all 10 matching tsavorites for this new project. I''m still debating 2 options:
1. Set all 10 in the TBTY (spacing of 1.5") and get 2 new tsavs for earrings (collet set)
2. Use 8 for the TBTY (spacing of 2") and use 2 tsavs for danging earrings (collet set)

So, what do you all think of a 2''" spacing versus 1.5"?

I think I''d use all 10 in the necklace. Awhile back I was considering a DBY necklace, and I asked for a neck shot of the 7 stone one at 16", and I felt that they were spread a little too far apart. I have in my mind that I''d probably have a 16" one made with either 9 or 11 stones, but 10 should be good for a 17" one.

I prefer 1.5" spacing. 2" seems a little far apart, and would probably work if the stones are bigger..
