what about a radiant or square cut round or flanders?
Let me get the cutter/dealer''s permission first. I don''t know what size the rough is, but he thinks it will yield a 4-8 ct Asscher.Date: 7/11/2007 8:16:55 AM

Can you post a picture of the rough? That might help a bit as to the shape. What is the size of the rough? The cutter will most like be able to make the best recommendation as to the final shape for you.
I don''t see why not an asscher. My pink spinel also has dispersive properties and under sunlight, it sparkles blue, purple, orange, gold, etc. I love it.
It''s Jeff White. He does thinkg the asscher is doable. It had better be a royal asscher.Date: 7/11/2007 8:57:29 AM

May I ask who is the cutter?
Does he think the asscher cut is doable?
Will it be a square emerald cut (3 crown/3 pavilion) or a true octagonal royal asscher (3 crown/7 pavilion)?
My plate''s pretty full. My e-ring goes to Leon Mege next week. I also have a Heliodor, a few Rhodolites, and a Rose de France to set. I''m also looking for a pair of white opals, and a spinel or two. Phew!Date: 7/12/2007 11:58:52 AM

Once all these are done, I''m going on a temporary fast until the end of the year. My project for next year is to set my red spinels, Pinkie, Richard Homer''s amethysts and the Paraiba.
What projects do you have on your plate? What happened to the rhodolites?
Could I please see a picture?Date: 7/12/2007 12:11:22 PM

How about a cut cornered square-- brilliant cut... something like a barion modified brilliant crossed with a radiant. Would look fabulous. My little wee danburite is cut that way and it really out performs both the oval and the modified rectangular cut.
Aren''t they lovely? But I already have 1, and would like to try something different.Date: 7/12/2007 12:28:17 PM
