Once all these are done, I''m going on a temporary fast until the end of the year. My project for next year is to set my red spinels, Pinkie, Richard Homer''s amethysts and the Paraiba.

What projects do you have on your plate? What happened to the rhodolites?

My plate''s pretty full. My e-ring goes to Leon Mege next week. I also have a Heliodor, a few Rhodolites, and a Rose de France to set. I''m also looking for a pair of white opals, and a spinel or two. Phew!

I must have missed your thread on the e-ring setting. Which one are you going with?

Wow, you are very brave to get opals. I love black opals but their care has really put me off them; there''s the issue of the opals drying, cracking, gentle cleaning and care, etc...but the interplay of colours are so beautiful.

Back to Mr. Dan B. Urite. What about a crushed ice cushion? I know some of you don''t care for that look, but I''m an odd one.

Coloured stones are cut to retain colour, hence it cannot be cut with the same angles of a diamond. I don''t think you can do a crushed ice cushion. The faceting pattern is very different; if you do wish to go the crushed ice look, your cushion may end up windowed and/or the yellow colour will lighten.

the dangle topaz. I have a dangle gold necklace with citrine and quartz and topaz; I love it. How about something like that and you won't feel bad if one chips. I would post pics but hubby got a new computer and I don't know how to down load pics. Plus he would ask why and I just posted my diamond pendant pic not too long w/his help so I need to wait a little bit. I just got to learn to do it myself. heehehee.
