Now that I''m on my decent computer monitor, I definitely think you have a color shift chrysoberyl (not to be mistaken with an alexandrite which goes from one end of the color wheel to the other). The shift in color of your stone appears to be much more pronounced than mine. In any case, it is a very rare stone, and a rare saturated color. You should be very proud of it, and I hope you set it soon!

Pretty stone! I love trillions. I hope you don''t put it in a halo.

Sonoma, Baby Nurse and Deia,
Thanks so much for liking my pictures and stones. I hope to never get tired of them.

TL,
It''s good that the sharp eyed Queen of spotting modifiers think my chrysoberyl looks pretty good.

I''m definitely already thinking hard about how to set it.

Gene,
I know you like trillions and don''t worry, no halos for this one. One halo setting is quite enough for me. I''m thinking of something sleek, contemporary and minimalist. It seems to suit the cut, plus with that saturation, I''m sure the chrysoberyl can stand on its own quite well.

WOW good catch Chrono! this is superb:) I will not put a trillion in a halo too. Do keep us update on the setting!

Gorgeous gem, now I want one too!

I must need a drink! Your chrysoberyl makes me want rum and coconuts! Good thing you beat me to it! I can''t be an alcoholic. That would kill my gemstone budget.

Eye popping color, love it!

Very unique and beautiful! I can''t wait for you to set this one. It''s going to be absolutely stunning.

I noticed in another thread a while ago how many don''t like trillions, perhaps because designing settings or them more difficult? I love them and this one looks lovely and a real dazzler. I''m looking forward to see how you set it.

Such a bright, lively and well cut stone!
I would also love to see how you set your trillion.

Correct; part of the reason I don’t like trillions is that the setting options are very limited. The standard ones are mostly quite ugly and I dislike spending a lot of money on custom setting as I already have way too many stones to set as it is.

I was just reading an old David Federman article on Chrysoberyl, and one dealer said when it is cut just right, it looks a lot like a fancy yellow diamond. I think this is definitely the case with your stone.

Okay, that's it!!! Next time I shop for a colored stone, I am seriously kidnapping you.

That chryso is insanely gorgeous, it's almost illegal. It looks like a radioactive green diamond!

What a great looking stone, Chrono, and I love that it is a trilliant, such a modern aesthetic in cut for that particular gem. I enjoyed all the pics, thank you for sharing!

Thank you to PR and Stone! I am still delighted with the chrysoberyl but haven’t found the right setting design for it yet. Whatever it might be, I’m quite sure this one is going to be in a yellow metal.

Oh, please halo the thing!! It's screaming HALO ME!!!!! Especially since it's a light toned stone that glows. :naughty:

TL,
Every stone screams “HALO ME” to you.

Beautiful, beautiful stone!! I'm just loving all of these neon looking stones I keep seeing on here!

Wahoo!!!

It's gorgeous as usual Chrono!

Yeah! Pbbttt!!!

I LOVES my halo.

I really love the colour - it's so intense & electric! How does it compare to the vendor photo/video though? I would love to see Tan's pic (if you still got it)..

hey chrono I swear I had posted in this thread but maybe I imagined it..this gem is certainly something from a dream  (ha ha did you like that bit of corny-ness?) Please do not halo it - I'm really liking your first instinct of something sleek and modern. On the subject of trillions I hadnt been a fan either due to the same reasons as you but since seeing Klewis's bezel ring it is clear they make such unique and attractive pieces in the right hands, I also hope to own one soon. The cutting on yours looks lovely is it a precision? With re to setting have you considered chatting to Michael E ? I noticed you mentioned you dont want to go full custom mainly due to cost (completely understand)-as Michael uses some pre-fab parts and some semi-custom it really keeps the costs down, however from what I have seen and trust from talking to him he does not cut corners or sacrifice on quality and finish. I figured he could be a good fit for setting your gorgeous chryso.
I am here if you'd like any setting design suggestions! :D

Stunning color! I love it! :lickout:

A real eye catcher! I love the colour and saturation. Enjoy it with health.
