New and REALLY AFFORDABLE JA settings???

So I was on JA and ran across these new settings. Pricing made my eyes pop out of my head. Looks like JA finally listened to all the comments about their limited setting collections. These remind me of the new Blue Nile line but the pricing kicks Blue Nile's tail (well, pricing, return policy and the fact that you don't have to buy a stone from them to get a setting).

I think there are some new Danhov ones too but most of those are so ridiculously designed that I couldn't bring myself to post them.

They don't offer platinum (I didn't check)?

Okay I checked. That's strange that they aren't offering platinum. Maybe it's a mistake, or something they will offer?

Honestly I was just happy to see most were in 18kt. Although my favorite is 14kt.

Yeah. I am now seriously contemplating it for a colored stone. I was going to go with the Poppyseed cartier-knockoff cathedral solitaire for my tsavorite garnet, but this one reminds me enough of the Vatche Swan (my number one favorite solitaire) that I'm thinking about it. If it comes in yellow gold.
 
I think we did break it. I can't find any of them when I do a normal setting search now? :confused: What's up with that?

Hi Gypsy,

I don't think you broke it, but you did catch us "in the act" of getting them live and on the website. We're still moving them around and trying to find the best category and page locations, so that's probably why you don't see them in the gallery pages. That will all be settled in by the weekend, though, and will check myself to be sure.

I also wanted to mention that the platinum versions will be coming in a couple days, and that all of the rings are available in yellow gold (although I don't believe they will be displayed in yellow on the website). 14kt white, yellow and rose gold are all options as well.

Finally, thank you all for the nice words and encouragement. These are the first of many new designs we'll be launching before the end of the year, many of which have been custom-tailored based on the feedback of the PS crowd.

Oh I am SO glad to see plat mentioned. This house is my financial priority for the foreseeable future though so I am only a casual setting observer at this point.

Some very nice rings at affordable prices. Out of curiosity, why is 14k your favorite? I assume because it is stronger than 18k but was wondering as I had a hard time deciding between 14k/18k white gold and platinum for my custom ring.

14k isn't my favorite. The SETTING that is my favorite is 14k, not 18k.

I prefer platinum, hands down, for all my pieces. If I go for white gold it's a white alloy like Stuller X1 that will not need plating.
 
LOL I was hoping I would get my post edited before anyone replied as I realized I had quoted the wrong person. Thanks for the clarification, I actually did end up going the platinum route. But was leaning toward 14k if I went with gold just because I've heard its a little stronger due to the less gold content and since the ring would have been rhodium plated regardless.
 
Ahh, it's like a dream come true!! I was just ranting to my best friend that my favorite settings are not available in rose gold, but this new JA one hits the spot. My favorite is also the Double Pave Leaf Engagement Ring. I'm very curious to see what the price difference will be between the white and rose gold.

:appl: If there was something I didn't quite like about JA compared to BN it was the limited setting choices comparatively, glad JA stepped up with their setting range.

I'm guessing there wont be a price difference, or if there is it will be minimal. Most other sites I've been to rose gold is the same price as 18k white gold.
 
GORGEOUS SETTINGS :love: I AM SO GLAD THEY DID THIS, THEY HAVE REALLY BEEN LACKING IN AFFORDABLE SETTINGS. THIS WILL IMPROVE BUISNESS BIG TIME.

Must be. If you click on the metal and price, the 18kt YELLOW gold is over $5700. If this setting was really $1100, then I would buy it right now as this is almost exactly what I want for my Mother's ring.
