Coz I'm spoilt :naughty: Stumbled across this parti-stone beauty at a local antique store whilst at home over Easter. Complete bargain at $AU80 - measures 6x4mm, 1ct weight. Immediately fell in love and hubby was sweet enough to buy it for me. Awful iphone pics of course but IRL it's rich blue with a bright lemon yellow end. About 2/3 blue, 1/3 yellow. Look at it from one angle and it's teal green, the other way - velvet blue. Mined and cut locally from Reddestone Creek, NSW. Thinking about a pendant to match my ering.

Gorgeous, HP! You're very lucky if Reddestone Creek is local to you - gorgeous scenery, and the stones are pretty cool too 8-)

Nice find!

Is this considered a parti or bi? In any case, it's unique with a lovely combo for its colouration, and nothing beats getting a local gem.

That looks pretty! I miss home!! I should go back to Australia and acquire some pretty sapphires :)

That color is (those colors are?) so rich! I really like that stone. What a great find!
And I love your e-ring!

Yes this is considered a "Parti-Sapphire" - my favourite kind! Most other local "pure blues" are a little dark for my taste...

very interesting sapphire!

Very cool sapphire!

Very pretty Aussie sapphire, and I love the idea of a matching pendant to go with your beautiful engagement ring!

What a great price on a local gem!

That is pretty cool! A friend of mine has one set in a ring that is half blue half white.
