Hello Everyone,

I wanted to say thank you to everyone on the color stone forum. You have all been very helpful through the process of getting the stone and having it custom set. I have attached a couple of cell phone shots of the ring and will try to get better ones to post in a few days. The ring contains a 6 mm round cornflower blue sapphire from B and B Gems. We purchased it at an intergem show and Bonnie really loves the color! (so do I) It really sparkles although the pictures dont do it justice. The 2 side stones are from a collection that Chrissa sent me. Thank you again Chrissa! The stones are color change sapphires that looked purple but once set they have a redish orange fire in them that really compliments the main stone. The ring was designed and created by Hunt Country Jewlers in Hillsboro Virginia. Ed, and Claire are just the greatest people to work with! Ed did a wonderful design on the ring and Bonnie loves it. The ring is 18k white gold alloyed with paladium (Bonnie is alergic to nickel). The paladium allows just a hint of gold to come out and it looks beautiful. If anyone is looking for a custom ring I highly recommend Hunt Country, they do amazing work!

A couple shots are posted below! The main stone uses a half bezel mount. It hink it looks really good and Claire said the ring would be good for everyday wear which is what Bonnie was looking for!

I am unable to upload the pictures from work sorry! I will post them tonight!

I've had a very very negative experence with B&B gems at Intergem, and I often warn people about them. I'm glad you had a good one though. Congrats on the ring. I do hear wonderful things about Hunt Country though.

Dum de dum de dum.... ;)) Will try to be patient and wait quietly for pics.

Please post something - at least where are the phone camera shots?!! It sounds fabulous from your description, but tsk, tsk, you know that doesn't cut it around here :nono:

Is there a way to post directly to the forum or do i have to go through photobucket or something. Sorry my ignorance is showing! And I work in the hitech feild you would think I would know how to do this LOL

When you make a new reply, there are options right above the text box. "Font size" "font style" "list" "Insert" and "Alignment"

Under "Insert" there are 4 buttons. The first button looks like a blue square, with a blue diamond and a green arrow. Click this button and a second page will pop-up. This page will prompt you to upload your photo (by clicking "browse" and then "save", and you can insert from there.

I hope this was helpful, can't wait to see the pics!

Ok Lets see if this works. The cell phone pic and the lighting are terrible Please dont judge the ring or stones based on this. I will try to get better ones. I am still learning how to do macro shots! Believe me in reall life it is a beautiful ring!

Yay!! It worked!

It IS beautiful John!! Lovely and congratulations on your engagement (and being able to post remotely! lol!)

Wow, need MORE pics. I love the simplistic yet timeless design.

Thanks Enerchi and Chrono. Bonnie really wnated something simple but Ed did a great job making it elegantly simple! I will try to get some better pics tonight. I have an SLR but I still struggle with getting the lighting just right. I can never seem to capture the color of the stones just right.

It looks lovely - timeless and elegant. But honestly, I don't know what's better, no pictures or only two that tell us only that the ring is beautiful, but provide us with no closeup on the details or stone. You're killing us here! Go home right now, mister, and get your camera out! =)

Very nice, a perfect ring to wear every day & make herself happy. I'm with the MORE PICS brigade, though! :lickout:

MORE PICTURES!

So here are some additional pictures. They are a little better. Taken with a nikon d5000 at 55mm. I still cant get the hang of macro shots or lighting though,

What is the profile pattern? I cannot quite make it out. Is it yellow gold?

Hi Chrono. I am not sure what the pattern represents. It fits perfect though. The lighting is giving it a more gold color than it has. It is white gold but mixed with paladium instead of nickel so it has a hint of gold in it.

John,

Congrats!! The ring looks very nice!! I'm so glad you were able to not only use those stones, but actually set them in an engagement ring. WOW!! That makes me so happy!!

I hope you and your wife enjoy it for many many years to come!!

Just don't call me Chrissa :x :x

Chris :sun:

John: Great job. It is a beautiful, understated and elegant ring. Excellent job designing a most beautiful ring and congratulations!

Super job. The colors of the stones are perfect together -- set each other off so well. Enjoy for a lifetime!

Thank you for all the wonderful comments. Although Bonnie and I had input to the design Ed Cutshaw from Hunt Country was the one who did the final design. I think he did a wonderful job. And it was Bonnies Idea to incorporate the color change sapphires that Chris supplied us with. We are very pleased with the result and again thank everyone here on PS for helping us through the process.

Thanks again!!!

John
