New Forum Troubleshooting-Please Post Questions and Answers

Re: New Forum Troubleshooting-Please Post Questions and Answ

#1 The 3 hyperlinks under my name in the "Signature" appear to be dead at the moment. They were working in the old version of PS.

#2 I have filled in the "APRAISER" profile information and hit the submit button. It has been saved, but remains "NOT APPROVED" at the top of this page. Will appraisers have a page with details of what they do and what they offer as part of the Google Map display?

THANKS for getting to these problems. I know I'm not alone with minor issues.

Re: New Forum Troubleshooting-Please Post Questions and Answ

for those having the 'paragraph post teaser' issue, i was having that in IE as well but now i am using FF and i can see everything without having to scroll. so if it is driving you crazy like it was me, install FF as your 2nd browser and use that for PS.

i also tried to bookmark a post but went back in later and it didn't have it in there, both in FF and IE.

also i am having the same issue as cara showing forum all the way to the right with no sub links in IE only.

My screen size is too big horizontally and forces me to scroll left/right to see an entire post. (even ones without oversize pics) I can't seem to find a setting to fix it. Please help. (Using Firefox and having no other problems)

Does CONTROL - (minus key) fix the problem? It did for me.

Thanks Lynn B.
That fixed it for me
:appl:

I have customised my view at 115% and it fills the whole page, no scrolling issues at all.

my options are 100% and the next one is 125%.the 100% is too small (no scrolling) 125% is too big and needed to scroll,so how you customize to 115%?

Re: New Forum Troubleshooting-Please Post Questions and Answ

DF, do you have a little arrow next to your "change zoom level" button? click on that, and you should see a pop-up with a list of pre-set zoom options, but one of them should say "customize".

And while changing the view to 120% on my computer has eliminated the white margin, I see even less on my screen - I can only view 8.5 thread titles at 100% as it is!

Re: New Forum Troubleshooting-Please Post Questions and Answ

couldn't see any pics. :((

Re: New Forum Troubleshooting-Please Post Questions and Answ

Is it possible to change time settings, to display local time rather than eastern?

Re: New Forum Troubleshooting-Please Post Questions and Answ

There are some issues with Internet Explorer. We are aware of them and doing our best to fix them. For those having issues with scrolling, photos, size of posts, etc. please use another browser for now and we will fix the IE issues as soon as possible

Yes. This is a new feature of this forum. Go to MY PAGES---EDIT and then scroll all the way down to the bottom. You will be able to select your timezone based on the closest large city.

You can change the title

If you want to change the title of your individual post in a main thread, you may. See the title change above.

We know the search is not working properly. As we said previously in this thread Andrey is working hard to fix it. It will be fixed soon.

Hi Dave,

I fixed it for you. It seems the hyperlinks did not convert properly for signatures.
So one needs to relink them in the signature area in the their user profiles.

Re: New Forum Troubleshooting-Please Post Questions and Answ

We have made some changes to make things work on IE 8.0.
It is working for us.
Please clear your cache and try again and let us know if you are still experiencing issue.

How do I browse through a user's past threads? I used to just click on a link that was something like "See all posts by this user" or something underneath their avatar but now when I click on a user's name I just see their most active thread, their latest thread, and stuff like that. No option to browse their past topics posted.

Hi Clairitek,

Here's how to find a user's topics for now-there will be a button created so you can do this from a user's profile page like before. hth

1. Go to "search" at the top-right of the page

2. Click tab "On forum"

Or go here:
https://www.pricescope.com/community/search/

3. Type name in "Search for author" box (I just searched your topics)

4. In the "Search within" section-click "Topic titles only"

5. In the "Display results as" section-click "Topics"

Here are your topics:
https://www.pricescope.com/communit...y&sr=topics&sk=t&sd=d&st=0&ch=300&t=0&submit=

It seems to have worked one time and then the signatures disappeared from my initial posting. They are also gone from my profile on the "edit" screen. I don't know the hyperlink text code to re-apply them properly.

Hi Dave,

To test it out, I have already done it for you.

The signature section has a link button. Just select the words you wish to be linked and then click on the link button(looks like a chainlink) And put the url in the mini window.

Re: New Forum Troubleshooting-Please Post Questions and Answ

May I suggest that we put a space between the "stickies" and the first post in each forum. I have a hard time searching for the first regular post. Also, the jet black font in the subject line on each forum's main page is really harsh on the eyes when everything else is now a softer more eye pleasing blue or blue/gray. Is there any way to soften that color?

I tested and there are no signatures being produced. I do NOT see any chainlink on the page where the signatures are entered, My account, Edit page. I also have found that if I click on my name when I find it on the google map only dummy text is entered although I have submitted current text today. So, for the moment, netiher issue is fixed as I see it.

Yeah, I just found the answer, sorry.

But for some reason it isn't always accepting my posts. Now I'll go back and see if there's a reason for that. ;)

I have gone to My Account ,Edit page, and do NOT see any "link" or chainlink effect icon button near the signature section of the form. Please supply the link to the correct page for signature creation if this is not where one goes. Also, when I find my name on the google map search for an appraiser, it shows dummy text and not what I recently submitted to complete the profile.

Re: New Forum Troubleshooting-Please Post Questions and Answ

Looks great everyone - thanks for the upgrade - I'm slowly figuring things out here... one thing I can't seem to find... the old PS had a "Posted today" feature which I used a lot, it showed recent posts, it was an at a glance start off point for me - is there anything like this in 2.0)? - can't seem to find it.

Dave,

I was having the same problem, then I tried it in FireFox and all is there. Not yet visible in ie. Seems Andrey will be having a little discussion with his developers, in the meantime if anyone needs to liven up their links, go to Firefox.

Hi,

It can be doen in the search, but it is not as convenient as the one button. We will look into creating one.
For the time being use the following link.

Re: New Forum Troubleshooting-Please Post Questions and Answ

Thanks for fixing the IE 8 issues. Unfortunately, at work I'm on a lower version of IE (and can't upgrade) and I definitely get the cut-off posts. Oh well; I guess that means I won't be able to visit PS as much at work anymore. At home I'm on Firefox and it looks fine.
