Well the tourmaline I emailed about is sold. And I did send the email pretty quickly I thought. Wow.

You've got to see gemscoop ASAP to even have a chance these days. I was first on the list for that (I declined after hearing more about the color, wasn't what I wanted) and I sent the email to him at about 5:15 this morning or so my time, right after he sent it out. The one upside to being awake with babies early in the morning I guess!

He JUST emailed me about it and I declined it, someone after me must have snapped that baby up fast! Hope it was a PSer!!!

My personal concern with the tourmaline is that there might be some yellow in it. I am not fond of yellow-green.

It doesn''t look like your typical ''neon'' tourmaline, and it looks more like a nice green tourmaline, if that makes any sense. Some people like the more neon colors, which is more typical of BrownEyedGirl''s seafoam tourmaline in the last gemscoop. It''s a pretty stone though if you like greenish tourmaline, but I would ask about extinction in various light, and I would also ask about any olive or yellow modifiers.

Is that the stone that is in her avatar? Becuase that''s not what I would think of neon! Gee - color can be so subjective. I LOVE the stone in her avatar. I wasn''t able to find more specific pics of it in a thread though.

I did email and ask about the yellow. I like blue-green colors. But without any hint of yellow.

Thanks Hoofbeats for the compliment! Have you seen the thread where I posted pics of the tourmaline? If you haven''t, there are more pictures here.

I''m not too big a fan of the stones on this Gemscoop (which is good, because I should not be buying any more gems right now! lol), but mostly because they''re not colors that I''m looking for. I think that pink spinel is lovely though!

Yeah it''s ridiculous how quickly stones go! A lot of it is luck and timing - sorry to hear about the tourmaline Hoofbeats! Fortunately, the thing you do know is that there will be a lot more gorgeous JW stones and Gemscoops in the future

Looks like all the smaller stones have been sold already.

BrownEyedGirl - thanks for the link. I just adore your stone and will probably have a never ending search to find a similiar one. Dang it.

I was actually checking my email when Gem Scoop came through my email. Which was close to 7 my time. Hmm. Wonder if mine was delayed. I emailed within 20-30 mins. I had a feeling I would be too slow. Oh well. I have been talking to Barry about finding something for me. I''m not the most decisive person so it might be best to do something privately.

Jeff will also happily take custom orders if you know what you might want. That''s a great way to get one of his stones IMO.

Definitely talk to Barry- I adore his stones. I just got a blue-purple spinel from him - his cuts have so much life!

And ditto to Neatfreak''s comment - my pink tourmaline (also in that same thread) was a custom order from Jeff.

Good luck!
